Last Sunday at the club was extra special! Derby Eyes Charity tournament was amazing! Well done to Miguel for organising it. 👏👏👏

Some players put in impressive displays in week 19. Hassnain Akhtar struck 51 for the 1st team, as did Steve Hanson, who was not out. In the 2nds, George Sanders scored 42 and Charlie Storr hit 40. Tom Dickens (39) and Maghizh Anandan (37) were the top scorers in the 3rds. The 4ths won as their opponents conceded the match. Well played guys, keep it going! 🤩

The last senior league games of August take place this Saturday. Good luck to all players! The bar will be open at QCC with matches to enjoy on both pitches. 🏏🥤😄

RIP Stuart Underwood

Quarndon CC are saddened by the news that Stuart Underwood has passed away.

Stuart was a member of the Village Championship winning team, a past Quarndon captain, and a very successful batter and bowler over many years, for Quarndon and for a number of other clubs in the league.

Stuart represented MCC on many occasions and was a strong advocate for cricket being played in the right spirit, hard and fair.

He will be greatly misssed.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

There were some standout performances from our players in week 18. Riaan Mahmood struck 77 runs in the 1sts, whilst Hassnain Akhtar hit 32 and Umayr Iqbal 30. James Hudson added more wickets to his tally, claiming 5-31 in the 2nds whilst George Sanders also took 3. Harry Smith hit an unbeaten 72 from 77 balls. Maghizh Anandan scored 45 runs for the 3rds. In the 4ths, Archie Hardwick had a fantastic day! He scored 117 runs from a mere 107 balls with 23 boundaries. Ed Hodgson scored 47 not out and Oscar Gayton contributed 32 runs. After the break Archie took 3 wickets. A brilliant effort guys! 🤩
