⚽️Hilton Harriers 5-1 Ashbourne Ladies⚽️

Another pre season game this afternoon as we welcome back a high spirited Ashbourne to The Mease for a second time this month! 🤜🏻

We had a bit of a make shift team today, having to pull in three U18s players and with various of our other players having to play out of position but we pulled together and managed to get the win! 💥

Massive shout out to the 12 we had today 👇🏼

🫡 Gabs - Once again had to fill in at centre half but put in a captain's display. Led the defence for 90 minutes and struck up a good partnership with the young debutant Anoushka.

🏃🏻‍♀️ Emily - Led the line admirably and always looked dangerous. Took her first goal very well before following it up with a well taken penalty.

💪🏼 Sophie - Followed up her form towards the end of the season with another strong performance. Deserved a goal after causing havoc at times

🧋Walshy - Real leadership role in midfield, helped the younger players settle in, played some great through balls to the attack, capped off a fantastic performance with a great goal

☺️ Fio - Making her debut today for the ladies, grew into the game and held her own against players twice her age, even bagged herself a goal with a strike outside the box midway through second half

💥 Dani - Another great performance, positionally outstanding, never gave their wingers and inch of space, linked well with Suze down the right and made some crunching tackles

🪨 Charlie - Battled well in midfield very strong won a lot of the ball, skipped around midfield to drive the ball forward

🧤 Inta - Swept up well when needed. Strong goal kicks and played out the back linking up with the CBs and Midfield

🍟 Eve - Played in a couple of different positions today. Dominated them both and scored a great goal from outside the box

⭐️ Suze - Up and down the wing, never stopped running and causing hassle, great ball into the box for our first goal!

🔥 Georgie - Grafted at full back, strong in tackles, bullet throw ins and linked up play with the winger

✨ Anoushka - First game for the Ladies playing CB, read the game well and was always in the right place!

Our Ladies travelled to Stapenhill on Sunday to play their second pre season friendly! ⚽️ We played against a strong Stapenhill side and unfortunately the result didn’t go our way 🤷🏻‍♀️

Despite the result, it was still a good run around to get us fit for the upcoming season. We played with a heavily rotated side to ensure everyone got minutes on the pitch! 💪🏼

A fantastic start to pre-season for the ladies with a 4–0 win at home to Ashbourne! 🌒 🌙

It was a great opportunity to have a run out and get some minutes in the bag for our players 💪🏼
We’ve had a few new players joining the squad over the past few weeks, who played their first game with us tonight and have slotted nicely into the team! 👏🏼

Some of our OG players also played out of their usual positions tonight, but adapted well and got the job done 🤜🏻 🔥
