Redwood Colts United 5–1 Rainworth FC

A fantastic morning for the lads in the hot weather, making the trip to Rainworth FC and coming away with a well-deserved victory! 🔴⚫

The first half could and probably should have seen us score double figures, with the Rainworth goalkeeper pulling off some excellent saves to keep his side in the game.

After dominating possession and pushing our defensive line high up the pitch, we finally took the lead through a lovely strike from Crofty.

Rainworth then somehow won a corner, and a lapse in concentration allowed them to get back on level terms just before half-time.

The half-time message was simple: move the ball quicker, find the space and let the ball do the work.

The second half was a different story. Kicking downhill, we controlled the game and opened Rainworth up, with goals coming from Luis and Eithen-Jake.

The lads continued to work hard and play some excellent football to see out a convincing victory.

Our U7 Rams were in action this morning against our friends at Sherwin Football Club Sherwin Development down at the Rolls-Royce Pavilion. It was only their second match since forming a few months ago, and it was great to see two teams playing the game in the right spirit.

There was some really positive football on show from both sides, creating a fantastic environment for the players to develop, build confidence and try new things.

A huge well done to every player who took part. 👏🐏

This new 3v3 format is a big learning curve for everyone, but that's exactly what friendlies are all about at this age—giving the children valuable experiences, lots of touches on the ball, and helping them grow both individually and as a team.

Thanks to all the parents for your continued support, and a big thank you to Sherwin for hosting us this morning. Looking forward to the next one! ⚽️🔴⚫️
