🐄 ATHLETE STORIES: MARK WHEELHOUSE 🏆

Sometimes it’s not about how far you think you can go… it’s about the people around you who won’t let you quit.

2025, Mark Wheelhouse took on one lap of Overload and spent the rest of the event pit-crewing for a team of four.

2026, he decided to see just how far he could go solo.

Having already completed World’s Toughest Mudder twice, Mark knew he could keep moving for 24 hours.

But Farmyard Jam?

That was a whole different challenge. 😳

The clock dictates your race.

Every hour, you’re back on the start line.

Lap after lap after lap…

By lap 16, Mark was absolutely done.

So tired he was almost falling asleep while walking.

That’s when Alan and Jamie (our tame race directors) headed out onto the course, gave him a kick up the backside 😂 and encouraged him to pick up the pace.

Mark made it back with just 3 seconds to spare! ⏱️

He was ready to call it a day.

But the other Jammers had different ideas.

They dragged him back over the start line, fed him a Pot Noodle 🍜 and basically refused to let him quit!

And somehow…

The laps started getting easier.

Lap after lap, the Farmyard Jam community kept him moving.

Until eventually…

🏆 LAP 24 COMPLETE! 🏆

And the cheers from the other Jammers said it all. ❤️

Mark’s words sum up Farmyard Jam perfectly:

“You won’t find quite that level of camaraderie at any other race.”

A truly unique experience.

And thankfully…

Mark will be back in 2027! 🐄🔥

This is what Farmyard Jam is all about.

Farmyard Jam isn’t just for adults! 👊

After the huge success of our junior event, we’re bringing it back in 2027! 🎉

👦👧 12–15 year olds

👥 8-hour pairs relay

🏃 A slightly shorter course so they have the chance to get around in the hour…

BUT…

THE SAME OBSTACLES. THE SAME CHALLENGE. THE SAME FARMYARD MADNESS! 🐄🌾

They’ll have their own pit area, an Overload medal, our famous Farmyard Jam and whatever else we decide to throw in! 😂

It’s a brilliant opportunity for parents and teenagers to take on a challenge together, build memories and see what they’re capable of.

And with teams from £70, it’s an amazing opportunity to get involved.
