A solo game yesterday due to the uneven number in the A Division saw the 2s travel to Catterick. Things started badly as Danny Carr was back in the pavi without troubling the scorers. Gary McGuire and Aidan Reid steadied the ship with Gary contributing 30 and Aidan top scoring with 56. Ste Allenby looked in fine form before being run out for 30! Conor Caldwell and Sam Newton both ended with double figures to help the 2s to 179 in our overs.

With the ball Newts and Allenby were the picks both ending with 4/14. Conor with a run out and Brad Andrews-little getting the final wicket. A dominant victory by 104 runs.

Thanks to match ball sponsors Dave Lee and Dave Hamer.

Next weekend the 1s host Barton and 2s travel to Northallerton.

Superb performance last night in the Murrough Wilson semi final. Restricting Raby Castle Cricket Club to 109/6 from their 16 was predominantly down to a tidy 8 overs from Sam Newton who went wicket less /15 from his 4 and Mark Little who claimed 2/16 from his 4. Craig Edwards burgled a couple taking 2/36 from his 4. Mubashir bowling the other 4 went wicket less also. 2 run outs were the remaining contributions.

With the bat we once again witnessed some unreal cup batting from Craig and Keith Barker. The pair saw us home without losing a wicket. Craig ended 73 not out off 41 balls and Keith 32 not out. Outstanding effort from the pair.

We now face Cliffe in the final with a date TBC.

Two important wins yesterday for Haughton. The 1s travelled to Witton Le Wear. A lost toss saw us bowl first. Robert Maddison ripped through the WLW top order taking the first three wickets. Including a jaffer to get rid of Adam Nelson who looked dangerous top scoring with 26. Rob ended with superb figures of 3/16. The chair then entered and was once again outstanding and took another 3 wickets. Sam Newton ending with 3/11. Craig Edwards took 2 once he remembered how to run up bowling spin.... Mark Little and Mark Dobinson claiming a single wicket each. WLW ending 93 all out.

Our reply started well.... 15/3 and a bit of panic set in!! Shawn Ridgeway and Keith Barker steadied the chase and took us to 76 before Ridge departed for 37 off 35. Mark and Keith took us to the winning total and a 6 wicket win. Keith ended 29 not out.

A strong 2nds hosted Shildon 2s. Batting first Danny Carr and Michael Burton opened up and put on 57 before DC departed for 28. Burty and Aidan Reid took us to 127 before Aido departed for 30. Burty then followed Aido straight back and we were 127/3. Michael ended up top scoring with 61 including a six!!!!!!! Ste Allenby was then dominant battering 59 not out off 33 balls including nine 4s and two 6s. Conor Caldwell chipping in with 20 and Mubashir 12 including two 6s!! We ended our 40 overs 229/6.

Bowling wise started well with Sam Lines taking a wicket with his first ball, but unfortunately his spell was short lived after an unfortunate blow to his leg fielding one meant he didn't bowl anymore. Bowlers chipped away with Mubashir leading the way returning 3/29 off his 9 overs. James Hampson taking another 2 wickets and Allenby also contributed 2 more. Aido and Ethan claiming 1 wicket each. Shildon ended 190 all out and a very important win by 39 runs. Two very important wins.

Next week the 1s have a free weekend and the 2s travel to Catterick.

Thanks to Andy and Bernie Howard and Colin and Marion Wilkinson this weeks match ball sponsors.
