Our wonderful friends at Teesdale Lions are holding a fundraising night on 11th September, the Lions have helped us out on a number of occasions with marshalling duties and fundraising from raffles, please support!

Wee bit late, but Teesdale AC parkrun report for Saturday 22nd September

Alice B got a parkrun PB on her first go at 'parkrun tourism', at Crichton, Dumfries 🏃‍♀️

Meanwhile, Mat was at touristing at Sheringham.

At Darlington South Park, we had Erica, Carrie, and Jack - Jack being second finisher in 17:21 (and a course PB for him).

Michael D was at Warrington for the result of the day - a 10% age grade improvement on his previous best and a 3-minute pb!

And on The Demesnes, we saw Dave, Anna, Joanne, Gail, Karen, Kornel, Steve, and Rhys. Kornel earned a new course PB but Steve still just beat him on the all-important age grading! Congrats to Karen; a whopping 90 second pb on her fifth parkrun. Not forgetting it was tutu (22) Saturday, so Joanne missing no opportunity for some parkrun dress up!

And over at Hamsterley Forest, we had Joe and Jasmine taking part 🌳

Thursday night's session was a magical mystery tour through Startforth and up Boldron Lane to practice tackling longer slow inclines. A beautiful evening for it, which took us across fields and stiles, with a few nettles thrown in for bonus points!

It was Super Sunday at Scorton Feast Memorial 10k today, well done Team TAC👏👏👏👏👏👏

6 TAC members attended and 3 prizes won 🏅

🏃‍♂️ For the men - James was 6th, Jack 9th, Rhys 19th. Jack got 1st in age category 16 - 30, and James got 1st in age category 30+. Well done to Rhys too, who was 1 second off his 10k PB , so close! 🏃‍♂️

🏃‍♀️ For the ladies, Ellie was 1st in her age category 30+, and Carrie was 84th and finished in 55 mins. 🏃‍♀️

Big shout out to Andrew who is injured and has been volunteering all over...Hamsterly parkrhn last week, Sedgefield parkrun yesterday, and then at Scorton today.🥇🥇🥇

Well done to everyone who took part in the Darlington 10k today!! A hot one, but brilliant times for everyone, including a number of 10k PBs, absolutely amazing!! 🏅

This week's sessions, new members welcome, meet at Post Office for a 6pm start:
🏃‍♂️ Tuesday - Tees Cottage Woods hill session - this will include trail so appropriate footwear advised
🏃‍♀️ Bowes Museum laps (woodland path, can be slippy/muddy)

Whilst some people were tackling Kirkcarrion, others were at our normal Tuesday night session - this week it was the fantastically named 'Mona Fartlek' session down by the River Tees.

This intense session is designed to build speed and endurance, and is brilliant for those looking to improve their 5k times. It's named comes from the Australian runner, Steve Monaghetti, who used the workout to train for all events up to 5K. 

On Tuesday night, TAC members took part in the annual Kirkcarrion Hill Race, over in Middleton-in-Teesdale. At just over 4 miles, it is a beautiful, scenic route, albeit a bit steep! Well done everyone who took part!

Cotherstone 6K/10K Fun Run - photos part 1

We had a great time at this annual charity fun run, raising money for Pancreatic Cancer and the Great North Air Ambulance. An undulating cross country course, with some pretty strong headwinds at time, but with beautiful views across Teesdale, with the option to run or walk, and 2 distances of 6K or 10K
