Good luck and safe travels to Dalkeith Petanque Club (also Dunbar Community Petanque) player Kathleen Rankin as she travels to Weston -Super- Mare on Friday to represent Scotland in the Petanque England Inter Regional Petanque Championship in Weston-Super-Mare against the Counties of England. Kathleen is the first Dalkeith player to represent Scotland and the club wishes her well in this fantastic selection of Kathleen after all her hard work improving as a player and the first to offer any advice to any player any time. Well done Kathleen.

Helen Somerville of Dalkeith Petanque Club and some of the players before our practice handing over a cheque for £170 to Alan T Hill of Dalkeith and District Community Council collected from DPC's Anniversary Melee where 12 teams played out 3 games. Proceeds went to service the defibrillators around Dalkeith.

Fantastic morning and afternoon in the rain and sun in Sunny Dunny Dunbar. Dunbar and District Twinning Association held their Perpetual Cup Petanque Melee at Dunbar Community Petanque Piste. Winning the event was Newtongrange Petanque Club player June Hunter-Robertson seen here collecting her prizes. Coming 2nd was Dalkeith Petanque Clubs own Helen Somerville and 3rd hot after picking up the Lothian and Borders Petanque league title was Hilda Inverarity of East Lothian Petanque Club. Well done ladies winning out of 36+ players. The prizes were presented by Dunbar's new Twinning President Jacqui Bell. Good luck in your Twinning endevours Jacqui and well done coming in at a brilliant 4th despite having never played before.

A big congratulations to East Lothian Pétanque Club on winning the 2026 Lothian and Borders League with one game to go. Well done. Its a fantastic league to play in meeting people from all over the Lothians . EL consistent right the way through the campaign. Well done my old partner from way back Janice McCormack. Hopefully for next year we will have additions to the League so as we can extend it. You only need 2 pistes to play in the league. 2 doubles games then 2 doubles games again then a single and a treble game.

A huge battle going on up in Carnoustie between the 4 clubs who won through to the round robin play-off in which the winners represent Scotland at Sin le Noble, France in the Euro Cup for Clubs. Our neighbours Newtongrange Petanque Club at the last publication of results sitting 3rd. 3 points separate the four sides . It is that close a contest. Good luck to everyone. Fantastic day at Inverleith Park today when Dalkeith Petanque Club travelled down to Inverleith Petanque Club in the penultimate game of the Lothian and Borders League campaign. A share of the spoils at 3-3 for both clubs was the eventual outcome. Thanks to the hosts Inverleith for a really good morn\afternoon.

Two weeks to go till the petanque world hit Dalkeith to play in the AAR Ferguson Invitation Cup at Dalkeith Communiuty Petanque piste. Great day to come round and visit the piste and see Petanque in full throw lol. All welcome. A chance to see the fastest growing sport in the Lothians and throughout Scotland at its finest in great surroundings.

Our twin town Jarnac in the draw for the National competition. It is absolutely huge. The mind boggles when you see some of the bigger towns putting forward a team. How many games inside that bigger town took place to get to the point of representing the town. I was told 4 years ago by the President of Jarnac Sports Petanque ( apart from saying you win nothing pointing lol) he said in France they are extremely busy once the season kicks off. I totally see it now. (And the pointing) The numbers are the departments.

Fantastic result for Dalkeith Petanque Club. When Kay Mc Millan , from DPC and Newtongrange Petanque Club player and DPC member June Hunter Robertson and Pam Robertson from East Lothian Pétanque Club won the Volunteer Arms Cup down at Dunbar Petanque Club on a lovely day. Great to see Dalkeith players retain the cup DPC won last year. This year with the help of Pam. Well done.
