Cumnock Juniors Girls FC

Yesterday, our Under 16s travelled to Dumfries to face Queen of the South for a league fixture.

Coming off the back of a heavy defeat last weekend, the girls showed a fantastic response and bounced back brilliantly. Although we didn’t come away with the win, their effort, attitude and determination were spot on from start to finish.

The girls worked hard for each other, played as a team and showed the fight that we know they are capable of. It was much more like the Cumnock team we know! 💪⚽️

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to take the points, with the match finishing Queen of the South 5–4 Cumnock.

Cumnock Juniors Girls U16s got their league campaign back underway after the summer break with an early away fixture against Annan Athletic Girls.

Cumnock started the game brightly, working well as a team and showing some of the good football we know the girls are capable of playing. However, the game soon changed, with Annan taking a 2–1 lead into half-time. Aimee got Cumnock’s only goal of the game.

The second half proved difficult, with Annan going on to secure an 8–1 win.

There is plenty of hard work ahead for the girls, and the effort, commitment and determination shown during training sessions will be crucial in helping the team get back to the form we know they are more than capable of.

⚫⚪ SIGNED ON AGAIN – MEGAN McLEAN ⚪⚫

We’re delighted to announce that Megan McLean has signed on for Cumnock Juniors Ladies for the 2026/27 season! 🐺🩵

Megan made the step up from our U16s into the Ladies squad in January, and since making that move she has looked completely at home in senior football.

A young, skilful midfielder with a wealth of talent, Megan is confident on the ball, works hard and has the ability to make things happen in the middle of the park. She continues to grow with every game and is another fantastic example of the pathway we want to provide for our young players.

And if anyone needed a reminder of what she’s capable of, today she produced an absolute SCREAMER to find the back of the net! 🚀⚽️ Definitely one we’ll be talking about for a while!

Still at the beginning of her journey in ladies football, Megan has a huge amount of potential and we’re excited to see her continue to develop alongside the experienced players in the squad.
