Well done boys for finishing the group stages with another win, topping the group with 14 points out of 15. We didn't have it all our own way, EDFC made life difficult and played some good stuff but despite not being on top form we did create a good number of chances, particularly in the first 10 and last 10 of the game and it should have been more comfortable but a lot of credit to EDFC for that.

We opened the scoring with a wonderful goal, one touch passing through the midfield with Ethan, Joshua and eventually Kieran who rifled a great goal high into the net. EDFC equalised in the second half but two good Findlay finishes sealed it as we finished the match really strongly, earning him the MOM.

Out best wishes to the EDFC player who suffered a wrist injury - hopefully a speedy recovery and all the best for the season ahead.

Qualification to the semi-final secured!

We knew Glenboig would be a tough game and so it proved with a exciting, blood and thunder cup game that culminated in a dramatic shootout win with Seth the hero in the end!

We went into the game knowing any type of win would be enough to qualify with a game to spare but Glenboig weren't going to make it easy. We started quite well, the Glenboig goalie making some great saves, particularly from a Joshua header but couldn't keep out a Ryan header on 14 minutes, ghosting in from deep to head in a Hayden cross. Findlay made it 2 with a great run and finish on 21 minutes and it was looking good, until one minute later Glenboig were awarded a fairly soft penalty and he converted to bring it back to 2-1. Within 3 minutes Glenboig were level, a lovely goal from the edge of the box out of Sets reach.

2-2 at half time and all to play for. We had further chances, a Haydn free kick was saved well and a few shots were smothered but both defences were on top. Penalties were inevitable.

We lost our last penalty shootout in the final of a festival in June and we feared the worst when Findlay put our first over the bar, however Glenboig failed to convert their first also. Charlie the converted for 1-0, Glenboig equalised for 1-1, Harrison made it 2-1 before Seth made a tremendous save to keep it 2-1. Joshua then cooly scored to make it 3-1 and Seth had a chance to be a hero - and he was - diving off to his left to secure the bonus point and qualification for the semi final.

Today we welcomed Rossvale for the third league cup group stage match and it was a tight game between two well matched teams. We continued to be without Kieran and Roman and Rico was unable to shake off his knee injury early on but we were boosted yesterday with the return to the club of Charlie.

It was in the 15th minute we took the lead, Charlie on for the injured Rico took a smart short corner from Joshua and picked out Findlay at the back post for a downwards header past the goalie. We extended our lead on 19 minutes, Ryan with a terrific bit of skill on the halfway and excellent through ball for Findlay who nutmegged the goalie before slamming it home. Great goal. At 2-0 most of the game was played in the middle of the park, with both teams struggling to get any rhythm with the constant disruptions from an over officious referee in a game that was played in good spirits.

In the second half we probably should have gone 3-0 up with efforts from Harrison and Charlie failing to hit the target and Jaiden was unlucky not to win a penalty but Rossvale, who edged the game for possession, got one back with one minute to go, a rare lapse in concentration by our otherwise excellent back line. The goal proved no more than a consolation and we took the 3 points to top the group with 3 wins out of 3.

Today's MOM was Seth. Although he didn't have any major saves of note to make, he carried on from Tuesday with a calm and assured performance, collecting crosses and through balls and showing great handling when balls came towards goal. His decision making was always spot on and his kicking was great too. Well done Seth, great game.

Bo'ness United 1 Kildrum United 2

Hot off the heels of Saturday's opening cup win, we patched ourselves up with injuries for the second game in two days with only one fit sub and it couldn't have been tougher with a visit to Bo'ness United. The heavens opened just before kick off and the conditions were difficult but both teams served up an entertaining cup match.

Bo'ness started brightly but the boys defended well and we took the lead through an excellent Jaiden volley at a corner kick. The rest of the first half was quite even with both teams giving 100% with bo'ness having a little more of the ball but we were creating the best chances with Findlay a whisker away from finishing a fine move. 1-0 at half time.

Into the second half we started superbly, Jack picking the ball up on the half way line, driving past two and sending a defence splitting pass for Findlay to finish high into the net. Bo'ness then threw the kitchen sink at us to try and come back but the defending was exceptional though they did score a fantastic header from a corner to bring it back to 2-1. The game got a bit feisty but we continued to handle the conditions well, especially Seth who's handling was absolutely impeccable in horrible rain. We should have seen the game out more comfortably with a few good efforts from Joshua, Findlay and Jayden and we were awarded a penalty with 3 minutes to go after Jaiden was fouled after a driving run into the box but the penalty was fired over. It didn't matter though as we handled the last few minutes of pressure to get a valuable 3 points.

Today's MOM was difficult, so many good performances but Jaiden scored a great goal, won countless battles in the middle of the park, had 2 or 3 efforts at goal and in the last minute won a brilliant header to clear a dangerous corner to seal the game. Great game Jaiden.

It's good to be back to competitive football as we began the league cup with a comfortable win.

The first half was disrupted, already missing Kieran to suspension we then lost Ethan to injury in the warmup, Roman to a foot knock after 5 minutes and then Rico and Ryan to knocks. Despite that the boys adapted to the changes really well and went in 4-1 up at half time with goals from Roman, Findlay twice and Jayden. The second half was very comfortable and we created a host of chances and there was a goal for Ryan and two further goals for Findlay, the last which was the goal of the game after a slick passing move.

Our players of the match today were Jack and Bradley. Bradley was a rock at the back and he dealt with everything thrown into the box, brave in the air and on the ground. Jack ran the game from midfield, intercepting, tackling and moving the ball forward to the strikers quickly to keep the pressure up. A very mature and dominant performance.

On Wednesday the boys welcomed Cumbernauld Colts for a friendly under the strange lighting cast by the solar eclipse. A big thanks for the Colts for contributing to a good match which saw some excellent football played. 4 goals and 2 assists from Findlay and goals from Rico and Joshua set us up nicely for the opening weekend of the league cup tomorrow.

There were a number of excellent performances but hats off to Joshua, Kieran and Findlay for their contributions to the game - all three have worked exceptionally hard in pre-season and linked brilliantly together all game.

As we get ready to start the 2026/27 campaign we'd like to add one or two players to our squad. If you are looking for a new challenge and want to join a club on the up get in touch. Training is on Tuesday and Wednesday in Cumbernauld.

First game back after a gruelling pre-season for the boys and today we welcomed Eddlewood for our first pre-season friendly. You could see the hard work they have put in over the summer and we ran out 5-1 winners. Eddlewood played some great footbal at times and proved tough opponents but goals from Findlay (2), Roman, Jaiden and a worldie and first goal for the club from MOM Jacob saw us get the victory. The important thing was plenty of minutes in the legs for the full squad and some really great performances though. Looking forward to it all kicking off properly next week as we move up to the C league.

Well today we saw the season close with another fine performance from the boys at the Kildrum Festival. We had a sleepy start after a 4am finish with the Scotland game and lost the first match despite creating many chances but it didn't take them long to wake up, winning 8-2, 3-1, 2-0 and 1-0 to top the group and go straight into the final against a BSC Glasgow blues team they had already beaten 2-0 in the groups.

With Haydn and Jack on holiday and Bradley injured in the last group game we had to adjust the defence but they were superb, BSC not registering a single shot on target in the final. At the other end though, their goalkeeper was sensational - saving 4 1v1s and several other efforts at goal in a strong attacking performance that just missed the final finish. It was just one of those days and the game finished 0-0 and onto penalties. Unfortunately, it wasn't out day as BSC clinically scored all 5. A big well done to BSC, their only defeat of the day came to us in the group stages and they should be proud of their efforts throughout - a very well organised team with a good group of coaches. Well done boys!

As for Kildrum, the highest scorers in the tournament and by far the team with the biggest heart - you did us all proud and although today wasn't your day there will be many more for this great group of players.
