The Red Triangle Snooker Club was proud to once again host the Under-21 UK Open Junior Snooker Championships.
In its third year, the tournament attracted 53 players from across Britain, Ireland and Europe, making it arguably the biggest event of its kind. Over four days, 530 matches were played, giving these talented young players invaluable experience.
To all the players, you are all superstars. You should be incredibly proud of the way you played and conducted yourselves over the past four days. Your commitment, dedication and sportsmanship have been outstanding, and there is no doubt that you all have bright futures in the game.
The standard was outstanding, with 28 century breaks compiled throughout the event. Congratulations to England's Aidan Murphy on becoming the 2026 Under-21 UK Open Champion. Adrian also made the second-highest break of the tournament with a magnificent 137.
Commiserations to finalist Edward Jones, whose performances were exceptional and point to a bright future.
Thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, officials, referees, supporters, players, parents and coaches for making the championship such a success.
Snooker mascots Jonny-Pot-Alot and Bobby Mcbaize popped in to say hello to all the players and families. Great memoriies. π
Another fantastic effort from all of the Red Triangle staff and the tournament event team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare the club and ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the championship.
Lastly to Scott Mcintosh who came in just before the event and recovered all our tables they were playing great, your hard work is greatly appreciated.

Day 2 update.
Two fantastic days of snooker are now complete, with around 400 matches played and some of the very best junior talent in Europe on display. We have just a handful of group matches remaining today before the Blue Ball Shootout gets underway.
If you're local, why not come along to the Red Triangle Snooker Club and support these incredibly talented young players? The standard of snooker on show has been nothing short of outstanding.
We have a new highest break of the tournament, with Aiden Murphy producing a magnificent 137 to top the leaderboard.
Ollie B. Payne also stole the headlines with an incredible three century breaks yesterday, helping take the tournament total to 17 centuries. A phenomenal achievement, keep it going!
A special mention also goes to the four Scots who are in excellent positions heading into the final group matches: Jack, Amaan, Ayaan, and Red Triangle's own Steven. Best of luck as you look to secure your places in the knockout stages.
The knockout rounds begin later this afternoon once the groups are complete, and if the snooker we've witnessed so far is anything to go by, we're in for a brilliant finish to the championship.
Finally, congratulations to Emma Crofts and her son Jake, winners of the Β£250 football card, and a huge thank you to everyone who took part. Tournament organiser Raymond was delighted to present to our wonderful bar manager, Fiona, with a gift on behalf of everyone involved in the card as a thank you, and a well deserved tip for all the hard work from Fiona and the bar staff throughout the event.
Good luck to everyone still competing. Keep producing the fantastic snooker we've all enjoyed watching so far! πΊοΈπ
