Iron sharpens iron ⚔️
Having a training partner can be a great addition to your training. Especially if you’re struggling with motivation…heres why:
-They’re someone to push you on, keep you accountable and bring a bit of healthy competition to squeeze out that extra couple %.
-They can give feedback, help adjust form and help improve ex*****on.
-They can open up training methods that you can’t replicate on your own- in this case partner assisted swings.
-Better craic, training is more enjoyable & easier to stick to, stopping you from getting bored and plateauing.

12 week recomposition from one of the crew🎯👏🏼
No fancy sh*t…
Trained 2-3x a week, nailed core movements, progressively overloaded them, moved body outside the gym, put an emphasis on protein and gradually worked our way into a deficit while still enjoying some nights out.
Simple although not easy.
If your in the same position and you want the exact framework used here & your willing to put in the work… give me a message and we can chat 🙌🏻

I am in no way an Olympic lifting pro BUT…
I have been utilising them in my training weekly & these are the exercises that helped me do so.
Above is 8 videos to help you go from having no clue to comfortable with a Hang Power Clean (which I’ll explain below is my preference as an athlete)
1: front squat- vital for the catch position
2&3: clean drop (quarter squat) & clean squat (full depth)- gets you comfortable shifting weight down quickly for the catch
4&5: the slide, shrug and triple extension (of ankle knee and hip)- this is where you generate your force and requires intent
6&7: receiving the bar high and low- allows us to practice rotating elbows under the bar quickly.
8: hang power clean- put it all together for this one.
Why I add them?
They are a great way to develop power as they combine lifting weight with speed.
Why I use the hang power clean and not the full clean as a field sport athlete?
-The full sn**ch and clean from the floor are very high skilled and time expensive
-The hang position will result in less fatigue & still illicit a high power output
Let me know if you gave these a go and how you got on 🙌🏻
