Dreams. Goals. Action.

We all have that vision — the one that lights something up in us. A version of life, of work, of ourselves that feels a little bit bigger, a little bit braver.

But somewhere between the dreaming and the doing, self-doubt creeps in. “Who am I to want this?” “What if I’m not enough?” “What if I fail?”

Here’s the truth: doubt doesn’t mean you’re not ready. It means you’re stepping outside your comfort zone — and that’s exactly where growth lives.

✨ Dream it.
✨ Name it as a goal.
✨ Build the plan.
✨ Take the first step — even a wobbly one.

If you’re ready to stop letting self-doubt call the shots, join us for Shake Self Doubt on 2nd October 🍂 A space to reconnect with your goals, quiet that inner critic, and walk away with real tools to move forward.

📍 Link in bio to book your spot — spaces are limited. Early bird all gone, but discounts remain for bring a friend or colleague.

Left: 2.5 years ago. Right: today. 4 stone lighter — but honestly, that’s the smallest part of it.

I almost didn’t post the photo on the left. It was taken not long after the hardest stretch of my life. We’d fought so hard through a brutal fertility journey, and I remember genuinely believing that once our babies arrived, everything would feel rosy. Like the hard part was over.

Then came the allergies. The colic. Months where sleep just didn’t happen. I was surviving on sugar and whatever was fastest to eat, running on empty, telling myself this was just what motherhood looked like. I was so depleted I barely recognised myself some days.

As a therapist, I spend my days helping people regulate, set boundaries, listen to their bodies. But there’s a difference between knowing that and actually living it. When things with the babies finally settled, I had to turn all of that inward — properly, for the first time in years. Boundaries I’d never had the energy to hold before. Learning to calm my nervous system instead of just pushing through it. Food that nourished instead of numbed. Movement that felt like care, not punishment. And slowly, rebuilding a work life that could actually hold my family instead of competing with it.

It wasn’t linear. It wasn’t quick. Some days it still isn’t easy.

I share this because we talk so much about holding space for others, but we go through our own seasons of struggle too. If any part of this feels familiar — the exhaustion, the running on empty, the sense that you’re supposed to be okay because you help others be okay — I’d love to hear from you. Sometimes just naming it is the first step. 🤍

What if your self-doubt isn’t really about today?

That voice saying…

“I’m not good enough.”
“I’ll get found out.”
“What if I fail?”
“Everyone else is better than me.”

…may have roots much further back than you realise.

EMDR can help explore those roots — and create a different way forward.

EMDR looks at self-doubt through the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model.

Our brains are designed to process and store experiences in a way that helps us learn from them.

But sometimes experiences become insufficiently processed.

And when that happens, old experiences can continue to influence how we see ourselves, other people and the world today.

Self-doubt can sometimes be connected to earlier experiences:

• Criticism or comparison
• Bullying or rejection
• Feeling different or not fitting in
• A difficult relationship
• Failure or humiliation
• High expectations
• Being made to feel that mistakes weren’t acceptable

It doesn’t have to be one huge traumatic event.

Sometimes it’s the accumulation of smaller experiences that shaped a belief such as:

“I’m not good enough.”

You might logically know:

“I’m capable.”

But emotionally, something still says:

“You’re going to mess this up.”

A current situation can activate an old network of memories, emotions, body sensations and beliefs.

So a presentation, promotion, new relationship or networking event might feel much bigger than the situation itself.

The present can trigger the past.

EMDR isn’t about erasing memories.

Through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, the therapist helps you process experiences that may still feel emotionally “stuck”.

As the memory is processed, the brain can begin to make new connections.

The goal isn’t:

“That never happened.”

It’s:

“That happened — and it no longer defines me.”

What would it be like to walk into that meeting…

Have that conversation…

Put yourself forward…

Set that boundary…

Take that opportunity…

without the old self-doubt automatically taking over?

Runnings two business, raising two wee ones, trying to catch my breath some days - it’s easy to miss the good stuff in the rush. This is me, stopping to notice it 🫶

Burnout doesn’t always look like breaking down. 🌿

Sometimes it looks like:
→ Still showing up, still ticking boxes, still “fine”
→ Losing the joy in things that used to light you up
→ Snapping at small things that never used to bother you
→ Running on autopilot, disconnected from your own body
→ Saying yes when every part of you is screaming no

Burnout isn’t always a collapse. Sometimes it’s a slow fade — and that makes it easier to miss, in yourself and in others.

If you’re functioning but empty, that still counts. You don’t have to hit the floor before your exhaustion is valid.

💬 What does burnout look like for you when it’s hiding in plain sight?
