What an incredible day for the Wave Wahines Summer Slide 2026 with the spectacular Vikki Worthington Memorial Cup Relay! We had the awesome team onsite all day with their amazing demo boards and we had surf lessons running alongside a day of run contest heats! The evening was the perfect opportunity to celebrate our 10th anniversary at the site of our other incredible sponsor ! We are still on such a high and want to thank every single person who came to surf, cheer and share the amazing day with us and all those who were sending their love from afar - we felt it 🩵🩵🩵🩵 thanks again to our sponsors, our home at and most of all YOU all!!!

There’s sooooooo many pics, videos and thoughts from today but it’s been such a long and joy filled day that my phone has not seen me much so I’m gonna leave this here before I go through everything tomorrow. This is what this means to me so having the amazing (& locally based women ) here for all our surfers - especially the younger ones was a definite for me!! These girls watched and surfed with older girls, women, their sisters and even their mums! It’s moments like this I sit and wonder how full my heart could be!! What a beautiful beautiful day!!! Schedule for tomorrow!!!! ITS HERE!!!!! We are super excited to be hosting our 5th Summer Slide which we created to celebrate our beautiful inspiration with the Vikki Worthington Memorial Cup. This event is rooted in vibes and love and has long been celebrated as a fun and friend contest where the contest feels more like a party wave!!!
We kick off at 9am -10:30 with a FREE fully coached session on any TIKI surfboards you have fancies trying out but want a little support and advice.
10am - competitor check in (first heat is in the water at 10:30am)
10:30-12:30 FREE SURF LESSON (limited spaces)
5pm Prize giving and our 10th Birthday Party at The THATCH!

Access and inclusion in ocean spaces and sports is so important and can take many shapes. Having kit that makes access easier within different cultures and beliefs is one of those barriers that we can overcome. Thanks so much to our friends at who have made this possible and are supporting our surf sessions this year for young women of Muslim faith as we introduce them to the sport we love in the ocean spaces we play 🩵🩵
