WEEKEND ROUND UP 🩵

Halstock 2-2 Crewkerne Rangers

The Firsts rocked up to a historically difficult hunting ground firing out of the blocks, dominated the first half and should have ended the half 5 or 6 goals to the good; the woodwork denied us twice but we did go in at the break ahead thanks to Liam Bagwell completing a good move, and Matt Adams linking up with Clayton Hayne and George Tuck nicely.

The second half was a completely different game, with Halstock rallying with a converted penalty and then scoring an equaliser with the last kick of the game.

A game of two halves, for sure.

Dowlish and Donyatt Reserves 1-2 Crewkerne Rangers

A proper battle was the name of the game. Two sides giving their all.

The first half was a stalemate until Kieron Adams whipped home a free kick, with Dan Edmunds popping up to grab the second shortly after.

Dowlish did not let this deter them, and pulled one back however some serious fight and spirit got them over the line and a second win on the spin.

Both sides remain undefeated at the start of the season, and both hope for this to continue!

SATURDAY IS COMING 🩵

Off the back of last weekend’s victories, both sides are gearing up to keep the momentum going.

The First Team head to Halstock for their second match. Last season Jack Hurd went from hero to zero after wrapping one in from 30 yards, only to then voice his opinion and end up in the bin a minute later 🫣

If in doubt, cut inside! ⚽️

The Reserves head to the newly formed Dowlish Wake & Donyatt Reserves, looking to continue their eye for goal.

Shawn will be looking to add to his tally of 4 already, so get your acca’s lined up for him to find the back of the net! 🥅

THE PERFECT START! 🩵

Chard United 1-3 Crewkerne Rangers

The firsts headed Jocelyn Park expecting a difficult game against the Hospital Cup winners.

Rangers started rapidly with Matt Adams bagging a brace, and the evergreen Barry Hayne coolly slotting home from the spot to end the half 3 to the good.

Chard rallied down the hill second half and grabbed one back, with an expected push for more, however the brick wall of Hayne, Merrick and Cutbush kept them at bay.

Crewkerne Rangers 8-1 Winsham United

Curly and Bryant’s men have started the season in some serious style with a romping 8-1 win at ‘home’ to Winsham Reserves.

New signing Shawn Dyer bagged 4, with Jamie Hunnisett and the ever-clinical Scott Isaacs bagging a brace apiece.

Both sides have come out of the blocks flying, and with everything that has happened off the pitch, we couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved, and grateful for all support received.

Due to vandalism of one of the goals at Henhayes, today's Reserve Team match will now be played at Hinton.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who messaged us to inform us of this damage late last night, and thank you for all the messages of support this morning. Secondly, thank you to Hinton and Merriott Youth FC for helping us sort a new venue, and all the players who raced to get the pitch ready for play. Proud to be part of such a strong grassroots football community.

We'll share more information as we have it on the impact this will have on upcoming home games for our Mens and Ladies teams.

THE SEASON OPENER IS HERE! 🩵

The Perry Street and District Football League returns this weekend and the club kicks off with what should be two great fixtures 💪

The First’s make their long awaited Premiership return versus Chard United, away at Jocelyn Park.

Jamie’s men have had a mixed pre-season but have found some rhythm towards the end and are looking to keep the momentum going 🙌

The Reservers get the balling rolling at home against Winsham United Reserves.

Curly’s troops will be hoping for a repeat of the scoreline when they faced Winsham’s Reserves in the double header a few weeks back 🙏

Get behind the lads wherever you are watching - and best of luck to both sides tomorrow.
