Recent Results | The Cuddington Pro-Am – 5th July
A solid week’s work with a 6th-place finish at the Cuddington Pro-Am.
I had the pleasure of playing alongside a fantastic team—Paul, Brett, and former Premier League manager Alan Pardew. Great company, plenty of laughs, and some brilliant stories throughout the day.
Always enjoyable competing in events like these, and it’s nice to see the hard work continuing to produce consistent results.

Course Record – The Cottesmore Pro-Am 2026
Shotgun start.
Starting on the second hole I got off to a mixed start with a birdie followed by consecutive double bogeys, but stayed patient and trusted the process.
From there, I played my final 11 holes in 9 under par, from the 9th back around to the 1st, to set a new course record.
Days like these don’t come around often, and I’m grateful to have put together a round I’ll remember. Thanks to everyone involved in a great day at The Cottesmore.

The short game series. What percentage of scoring shots come from putting, chipping/pitching (around the green), bunker play, and other areas?
It is surprisingly consistent across handicap levels because every hole ends with putting. A useful takeaway is that roughly half of your strokes occur on or around the green (putting + chipping + bunker play ≈ 48–55%) across all handicap categories.
Is it worth 50% of your own practice time?

The Slope Mastery class was a massive success, with six students learning how to adjust every aspect of their shot based on the slope.
We explored how the slope influences:
• Launch angle
• Spin
• Start line
• Finish line
More importantly, we learned how to make the correct adjustments by changing:
• Setup
• Weight distribution
• Angle of attack
• Delivered loft
• Shot shape
• Trajectory and ball flight
When you understand exactly what the slope is going to do to the golf ball—and you know how to adapt your technique—you can predict the outcome and confidently choose the right shot.
Learning to read, plan, and execute difficult shots is one of the fastest ways to lower your scores and become a more complete golfer.
Each golfer received training videos of each slope after the lesson.

Most golfers spend the majority of their practice time hitting from perfect lies on driving ranges and practice areas, where the ground is flat and conditions are predictable. Unfortunately, the golf course presents a very different challenge. Slopes, gradients, and varying grass conditions can have a significant impact on ball flight, distance, direction, and strike quality. In this Slope Mastery class, you’ll learn how to accurately assess different lies, understand how the terrain influences your shot, and make the correct adjustments with confidence. By developing a better understanding of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies, you’ll improve your club selection, enhance your distance control and accuracy, and make smarter decisions on the course that can lead to lower scores.
