If you missed out last year to gain the Coach Bowls Level 1 qualification we have arranged another opportunity for our members this season! Contact Debra to secure your place.

If you would like to make up a team for any of the National Qualifier County Comps please let us know - there may be others wanting to play who don’t have a team and we always love to see Downsman players at these games

We have just 1 month to go before entries for our County/National Qualifiers close so please get your teams together and enter asap.
County only entries are going onto a waiting list so please put your forms in before it’s too late.
The first event, The Mixed Fours still has some spaces so if you can play at Worthing Pavilion on the 27th September don’t delay and we will look forward to seeing you there!!

A Downsman team have made it through to the final of the Stewart Oxley Cup 🥳

Jono, Bob Miller, Dave Foster and Dennis Hodgkins will play a team from Preston Park Bowls Club at the final on Saturday 15th August at 10am, at Balcombe Bowls Club 🍀 - Go along and support them if you can

The Jim Justice Memorial Day, held on Saturday, was a very special occasion, with several members of Jim's family in attendance and a bench dedicated in Jim's honour unveiled.

Our Club’s Memorial Day event is held to remember all of our past members who helped make the club what it is today, and a minute’s silence was held in their honour.

Over 30 players came together to take part in a variety of bowls related games.

The event was won by Terry Woods, Clare Mundle, Jackie Roderick and Trish Johnson.

The club raised over £200 at the event, through member donations, raffle prizes, and a spider; something we know Jim would have been very chuffed about.

Today, Saturday 01 August, we are holding the Jim Justice Memorial Day at the Club, from 2pm.

Leacroft Medical Practice is hosting a free Liver Health Check clinic on Thursday 6 August 2026, delivered by the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust’s specialist Liver Health Team.

The mobile screening unit will be based at the practice for one day only, offering liver health assessments and advice to eligible patients.

To be eligible for a free liver health check you must be aged 35 to 70 and meet at least one of the following:

> Diabetes or pre-diabetes
> Previously been told you have fatty liver disease
> Hepatitis B, hepatitis C or HIV
> Regularly drink more than 14 units of alcohol per week
