Comedian Johnny Vegas endorses Bowls and Para Bowls at Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games as £10 tickets launched Comedian, actor and Bowls fan Johnny Vegas has stoked the huge anticipation around the Glasgow 2026 Bowls and Para Bowls competition by giving a lyrical description of why he plays and loves the sport.

Whilst our outdoor team were playing a friendly at Horsham today, our shortmat players were represented at the inaugural Foxes Fours competition hosted by our friends at the new shortmat club Southdown Foxes.
No more silverware was brought home on this occasion, but our players relished the opportunity to play out of season, as all away practise is worthwhile and a good day was had… and delicious cakes enjoyed between rounds! 👌🏼🥳

Another good fun Friday shortmat roll up, at which our next door neighbours from the Ram Club popped round and learned about our game… and the Goodyear blimp flew over!

Scam alert! Please help protect elderly friends, family and neighbours

We've seen a number of reports across East, West and Mid Sussex of criminals targeting older people by pretending to be from the council.

The suspects are knocking on doors and claiming payment is needed to repair drains.

They then ask victims to hand over their bank card and PIN to process the payment before absconding with the card.

⚠️ Remember
• Never hand your bank card or PIN to anyone.
• A genuine council worker will never ask to take your bank card or request your PIN.
• If you're unsure who is at your door, don't let them in. Verify their identity by contacting the organisation directly using a trusted number.

Sadly, more than £35,000 has already been stolen across seven reported incidents this month.

Please share this message with elderly relatives, friends and neighbours to help prevent more people becoming victims.
