Introducing ZUMBA +LIFT
A brand new Zumba programme
Bringing strength training to the Zumba party
I just wanted to let you know about a new training programme I’ve recently completed ……
It’s called Zumba + Lift and I’ll be doing ‘taster classes’ this week
I was really drawn to this programme because resistance training is so important for maintaining and building muscle for everyone especially for those of us in perimenopause or post menopause
Strength training helps build the “armour” our bodies need
You’re never too old to build muscle
Muscles provide support and protection to your bones, reducing risk of injury and loss of independence
So, what is Zumba + Lift?
It’s a combination of dance and resistance training—bringing together the fun of movement with the power of strength work. It’s a high-energy workout set to music and backed by science, alternating between dance tracks and resistance exercises
All you need is a set of light dumbbells (ideally between 0.5kg–3kg), or you can simply use your own body weight if you prefer
Why Zumba + Lift?
It helps build muscle, improve bone density, support joint health, and boost metabolism
I do have a limited number of light dumbbells available to borrow, otherwise feel free to bring your own (again, anywhere between 0.5kg and 3kg is perfect)
