If the weather allows…it’s Bolney at home for the 1s and a trip to St Andrews for the 2s 🏏⛈️

This weekend saw 1st XI skipper Brodie Chalcraft pass 3000 CDCC runs! It’s been a hell of a season for Brodie with bat and ball, and he’ll be hoping he can continue his fine form over the last couple of games! 💪🏻🏏

🚨60 POINT SATURDAY 🚨

The 1s travelled to Ansty as the race for promotion in Division 7C continued. After winning the toss, Brodie elected to bowl on a good deck and another warm afternoon.
After a sluggish start — including a memorable 16-ball over from JT… 😬 — the boys pulled it back brilliantly to bowl Ansty out for 143. Barksy was the pick of the bowlers, rolling back the years with an eight-over spell up the hill to finish with excellent figures of 4-15!
None of the top three really got going in the chase, but Warren joined Brodie at 38-3 and the pair took control, seeing us home comfortably with plenty of overs to spare.

The 2s secured a much-needed win at home against Haywards Heath as they looked to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
A strong batting performance saw us post 240-4 from our 40 overs, with valuable contributions throughout the top order.
Heading out to defend the total, it was U14 Bobby Hollyoak who stole the show, picking up his first league five-wicket haul with outstanding figures of 6-47 from his nine overs!
Well done, Bobby! 👏

Better late than never…

The 1s made it 9 on the bounce to complete a full sweep of victories against all the other teams in Div 7, leaving themselves 44 points clear of 3rd place!
After being asked to bat, it was Brodies turn for a second ton of the season, as he batted excellently for 122 as we made 284 in the first dig.
We picked up regular wickets in the chase, and although Cuckfield batted out the 40 overs, the boys had the game under control throughout.

It was a tough afternoon for the 2s away at Ifield as they were heavily beaten. Ifield wracked up 357 from their 40 overs thanks to hundreds from their opening pair. We could only manage 91 in the chase. All focus turns to this weekend in a huge game at the bottom of the table against Haywards Heath!
