Another week, another batting milestone, as Laffs notched up 3000 CDCC runs over the weekend! A fantastic achievement for our 2s skipper! 💪🏻🏏

The 1st XI made it 4 from 4 as they continued their promotion hunt with a win over Horsted Keynes!
An excellent bowling display saw us bowl HK out for 145, Brodie being the pick of the bowlers with 4-27, and Purce chipping in with another couple at 2-2.
The chase got off to a good start as Dan put some pressure on the HK opening bowlers, however Harry was the standout batsman with 39 to pretty much see us home. A couple of late wickets generated some nervous pacing around the pavilion, but Craig hit a couple of boundaries to get us over the line!

The 2s once again found themselves on the wrong side of the result as they fell short against Three Bridges. Chasing 222 to win, despite a valuable 59 from Neil and more runs from Laffs (42) we fell 32 runs of our target!

Here’s how the stats are shaping up halfway through the season. Brodie leading the way for runs and wickets in the 1s, with Rawden and Jez topping the charts for the 2s! 🏏

Big milestone for the man in form!

After his recent run of unbeaten scores, Rawden brought up 7,000 CDCC runs over the last couple of weeks! A massive achievement for a club legend! 🐐💪🏻

We’re now at the halfway point of the season, and here’s how the league tables are shaping up!

The 1st XI are firmly in the promotion race, sitting just 11 points off the top two in an incredibly congested chasing pack. Saturday’s win over St Andrews tightened things up even further!

After a strong start to the season, the 2nd XI find themselves in the lower half of Division 11CN. They’ll be looking for a big second half of the campaign to climb the table and put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

The 1st XI made it 3 wins from 3 to finish the first half of the season, as they beat table toppers and previously unbeaten St Andrews at Sandy Lane.
Winning the toss and bowling first in the heat, the boys worked hard to chip away, and regular wickets saw us bowl St Andrews out for 185 on what was a tricky wicket to bat on. Warren was the pick of the bowlers, rolling back the years to take 4-28 from his 8 overs, with all the other bowlers contributing too.
The chase was steady, and was anchored by an excellent 56* from Jon Ward, who saw us over the line with just under 10 overs to spare!

Away from home, despite a magnificent unbeaten 100 from Rawden, the 2nd XI couldn’t get a much needed win to be able to end the first half of the season on a high. Cuckfield piled on the runs in the 1st innings thanks to a big hundred from their opener, and they set a daunting target of 307 to win.
The chase didn’t get off to a great start as we found ourselves 50-3 off 10 overs. Rawden and Laffs put on a 100 before the latter fell, and Rawden brought up his 3 figures in the last over of the game, but we still fell well short of the target!
