Another shoot over, and judging by all the feedback, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day at Greenfields!

Top Gun today was Shane Haughian with an outstanding 47. Excellent shooting, Shane!

Closest behind was Greenfields' own Adam Spence, continuing his fine form with 45, followed by three shooters on 44 – Greenfields' Conal Loughran, Glen Fulton from Derryboye, and the ever-consistent John Parker. Excellent shooting, gents!

A special mention goes to junior shooter Cormac Kemp, who broke the 40 barrier for the first time. A fantastic achievement, Cormac – well done!

Meanwhile, Nigel Stewart made sure Ian didn't get too carried away today, keeping him in check with a tidy 41!

As always, thanks to everyone for your continued support. We appreciate it, and we look forward to seeing you all again in a fortnight.

And that's it for another excellent shoot.
It was a high-scoring day with plenty of re-entries as everyone chased that elusive 50. In the end, Greenfields regulars John Parker and Jordan Dickson came out on top with superb scores of 48. Close behind were Ian Stewart, Nigel Stewart, and Shane Haughian, all finishing on an excellent 47. B. Tate claimed third place with a very impressive 46. Top shooting, gents!
In the Greenfields World Championship, Adam Spence took top honours with 47, followed closely by the ever-consistent and midweek competitor Tommy Hillicks and Big Merv, who both finished on 46. PJ McAlister and Neil Loughan completed the leading scores with 45 each. Great shooting, guys!
It was brilliant to see so many families attending today's shoot. There were certainly plenty of bragging rights earned, with a few family rivalries settled—at least until the next shoot!
Congratulations also to Greenfields regular Ray Davies, who today received his trophy and prize for finishing top in the Sporting Only category at this year's Walter Austin Charity Shoot. The presentation was made by Greenfields Chairman PJ McAlister. A well-deserved award—well shot, Ray!
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported another fantastic day at Greenfields. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next shoot. GF's

The Annual Walter Austin Charity Shoot was held on 27th June. This year the charity supported was NI Hospice Somerton Road Belfast. Today Neil and Merv from Greenfields Shooting Club visited the NI Hospice and met Julie to receive our donation. The final amount was an excellent £2547.50.
Again, Greenfields would like to thank all our supporters and regulars for helping make the day a success and also to the many who made additional donations.

Greenfields Charity Shoot – 27/06/2026

The Annual Walter Austin Charity Shoot was held today, and thankfully the weather was exceedingly kind to us.

This year's chosen charity was NI Hospice, Somerton Road, Belfast. As always, we try to support a charity that has been there for Greenfields club members, as well as many of our guests and regular shooters, when they have needed it most.

This year we again offered three shooting options: a 50-bird, two-person Flush Shoot plus three stands of 10 birds, a 30-bird, three-stand shoot, and a Flush Only option for those who like their targets fast and furious! Trophies were up for grabs for High Gun Flush + 30 Bird, High Gun 30 Bird, and Top Flush Only Team.

As always, there was great interest in the Flush + 30 Bird competition. Jim Burns emerged as High Gun with an excellent 53, including 29/30 on the sporting layout. Superb shooting, Jim, especially with one particularly tricky stand in there! The trophy and the Walter Austin Shield will be presented when we next see you.

The trophy for the 30-Bird Shoot goes to Greenfields regular Ray Davies with a fine 25, closely followed by Ian Stewart on 24. Well shot, gents.

The Top Flush Only Team consisted of Greenfields regulars Nigel Robinson and Aaron Megaw, who posted an outstanding 49. That's a second consecutive win for Nigel—very well done, gents!

The trophies and the Walter Austin Shield will be presented by Greenfields Chairman PJ McAlister at our next opportunity.

Greenfields would like to sincerely thank all competitors and our regular club members for their fantastic support throughout the day.

We are delighted to announce that the final charitable donation to NI Hospice, Somerton Road, Belfast is expected to be approximately £2,500—a fantastic amount. Thank you all for your incredible generosity and continued support.

We would also like to thank Donal McCloy Guns once again for sponsoring some of today's spot prizes, along with Braham Group and everyone who donated prizes. A special thank you goes to those who kindly rounded up their entry fees or made additional charitable donations.

A particular word of thanks goes to Newline Shooting Club for their generous donation, as well as to the many regulars who were unable to attend today but still took the time to send donations.

Finally, a huge thank you to all the Greenfields club members who gave up their time over the weekend to help set up the event and ensure everything ran smoothly today. As we all know, a tremendous amount of work goes into organising an event like this, and once again it was a fantastic Greenfields team effort.

The BBQ proved very popular, and all proceeds from it have been added to the charity donation.

There are still a few spot prizes to be handed out, and these will be available at our next shoot.

Thanks again to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, helped, or supported the event in any way. We look forward to seeing you all again in a fortnight.
