Had a great time at our Prime Tennis Group Christmas party. Lots of tennis, great food, a topical quiz and plenty of fun. Merry Christmas everyone.

We were thrilled to celebrate our honourable member Peter Lowe’s 80th birthday today. Even though he is very experienced his backhand slice rarely bounces more that a foot off the court and his backhand volley is as crisp as a frosty morning. Wishing you a very happy birthday Peter 🥂🥳🥰

Cowbridge Tennis Club held its first championships for 11 years last Saturday with great success. Some of the winners were Cristina and Sara winning the Women’s Doubles, Paul and Jamie winning the Prime Event, Libby and Ed winning the Saturday Social event and Christina and Micah winning the Mixed Doubles. Congratulations to them all 👏👏👏👏👏

Take out a 4 week Taster Membership for £5 if you sign up at our Club Open Day on Sunday 20th July. Then if you continue with your membership you can get the appropriate Membership Package for half price, which will last until the end of March 2026. Please ask for Paul Williams on the day.

On Saturday 15th March, Cowbridge Tennis Cub was thrilled to host a LTA under 9’s tournament for both boys and girls. Nine girls and 11 boys entered the tournaments which was organised and run by Mark Lewis from the LTA. Watching the children play I was very impressed by the level of their game and the commitment they showed but more importantly, how much they were enjoying themselves. The girls tournament was won by Lacie Weston from Llanelli and the runner-up was Etty Noble from Bristol. The boys tournament was won by Joshua Livingston from Cardiff and the runner-up was Rupert Hannon from Haverfordwest. The clubs committee was able to provide refreshments for both parents and children to enjoy. Congratulations to all those who participated and especially to the winners and runners-up. Their parents must be very proud.

If you are looking to play with other players you can play social tennis by joining our Prime Tennis and Saturday Social Groups. If you want to play league tennis you can discuss this with one of our Captains. Coaching is available for both adults and children along with a “Walking” tennis group for those who are recovering from an illness or have a disability. Had a great social yesterday to celebrate St David’s Day. Two hours of tennis followed by Leek and Potato Soup with crusty bread followed by Welsh Cakes. Thank to all who came and helped.
