The Lockett Academy

We have had such a great time over the past 3 days with our summer school. 6 routines, a script to learn and props made with a show this afternoon. All in 3 days. These kids have blown us away this year with the amount they’ve done. And what an absolute pleasure having each and every one of them. Love their friendship, love our Lockett academy family. So proud of all these little stars in the making ⭐️⭐️⭐️

When you get sent things like this it makes everything you do so well worth it.

What a fabulous After show Party last night.

Thank you to you all for making last night such a fantastic evening.
We celebrated, we partied, we ate copious amounts of pizza and donuts, we had so much fun and we ended up with paper plates to use as fans!! 🤣 It was a hot one! 🥵

It was so good watching all the students have so much fun, singing, dancing, smiling and laughing all night.

Massive thank you to everyone who helped out. It means so much to us. Overwhelmed by the amount of help you have all given no matter how big or small.
Especially Philip who very kindly offered to go and collect the pizzas for us so we didn't have to leave the party to go pick them up.
And there was a lot of pizzas!! 😝
Karen who at every party always volunteers to go round with things like the raffle.
All our amazing teachers who go above and beyond. As always ❤️❤️
A massive thank you to Emma D who organised the majority of last night. She is the reason we have these fabulous parties.

Our winners this year had big celebrations and to everyone who has worked so hard you all had your show medals. Well done! 👏

Now onto the next show!! ⭐️⭐️

The feeling you get once the show is over.
The comedown is hard. Everything is quiet.
But you can reflect on what just happened and that feeling of pride rushes through you.
These two melted my heart and made me cry! Two beautiful young ladies singing together for the first time. It absolutely took our breath away backstage and we all had a little cry. The audience were moved to tears and we couldn't be more prouder than we are. The connection they both had with each other was just beautiful to watch and it was all captured on video to make beautiful memories.

We want to give a big shout out to for the beautiful make up and the absolute kindness that was given. We are so grateful. A wonderfully talented makeup artist.
Someone we highly recommend. ⭐️

Well what can I say!!!

What an amazing dance family.

That was one hot and emotional rollercoaster but wow every one of you shone on that stage.

We are so so proud of everyone. From those doing their first show to those on their 11th!! You are all incredible and have shown everyone what your made of. Superstars ⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped front of house and backstage.
It’s been extremely hot and it’s been so hard in this heat but no one dipped at all and the kids have had the best time.
You guys helping means so much as we cannot do the shows without volunteers. You play a massive role in the production side of things and we are so grateful for all you do.

We were inspected today and although the inspector can’t tell us anything till the report comes out, I know she went away happy.

So well done everyone.

Thank you Karl and Tracy for getting a van, fridges and generator to be able to give our audience cold refreshing drinks and for organising the whole thing.

Thanks Barb even though you are waiting on an operation you were still there to do all the safeguarding and keeping things on track.

Emma Dand Emma K- S Running round backstage with signing in, checking paperwork and making sure kids are counted for and where they should be.

Rob, Ben & Leo for being on the doors and making sure all is in order.

To Sophie and Andrea from SCDC thank you so much for chaperoning. It’s such an amazing thing when dance schools help and support each other.

Mr Alan for floating and doing all the things we need you to do when we get called away from our post.

Miss Sammy, Miss Janine & Miss Natalie what you do backstage is above and beyond. I have no words that show how much I appreciate and love the bones of each and every one of you.
But not just backstage, it’s throughout the year and all the prep that goes with it.

Miss Linda we’ve learnt from the best and we are so grateful for all the skills you have taught us along the way.
We are able to do what we do because you showed us how.

To the Lockett Academy students I am super proud of you all. You shine on that stage and you all make the show extremely special.

Pat yourselves on the back. Give yourselves a hi five and a macdonalds or a KFC is definitely on the cards as treat 😝⭐️
