QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED ALL THE TIME… 💦👶
Parent. Teacher. Tutor.
Answered by Liz
With two children less than two years apart in age , I’ve lived baby swimming from both sides of the pool.
“Is my baby too young?”
No. Babies are learning from an early age — and the water gives them a completely different environment to learn in.
“What are they actually getting from it?”
More than you might think.Developmental the early you start them the better (within reason)
Movement. Balance. Coordination. Body awareness. Communication. Confidence. Trust.Gross Motor Skills , Fine Motor Skills , Cause and Effect .
Every reach, kick, turn, splash, song and cue is giving their developing brain and body something to work with.
“So it’s not just about learning to swim?”
Absolutely not.
It’s about you and your baby learning together. How you hold them. How they respond to you. How you build their confidence without rushing them. Enjoy the closeness water brings 💦
Start early — but more importantly, start right.
Because baby swimming isn’t just about teaching a baby to swim.
It’s about giving them the right environment to develop. 💦
