💙💛 More sad news for our club on the passing of a brilliant clubman and friend to many, Guy Oakley.

Guy passed away peacefully on 1 August 2026 and will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.

Guy was devoted to his family and couldn’t have been happier than the day his son Zak joined Barkers and started a successful rugby career. Guy loved watching rugby and being at the club. He would always volunteer to help out and support however he could. He even tiled the ladies toilets, generously donating his time and all the materials.

Guy, Claire, Zak & Poppy enjoyed many special times at the club and would love to invite their friends to join them to celebrate Guy’s life. His funeral service will take place on Thursday 27 August 2026 in Cannon Hill Chapel, Canley Crematorium at 12:45 pm.

Family flowers only please, but donations if desired in Guy's memory to Coventry Myton Hospice on the day via the collection box at the service. Guy’s friends have also started a GoFundMe link if anyone would like to support https://gofund.me/7c5f90132 💛💙

💛💙 Join us at the club on Friday 21 August from 2.30pm to celebrate the life of one of our brilliant and talented player coaches Steve Hall.

Steve passed away on 9 July at the age of 68. A former player at Coventry Rugby club, Steve joined Barkers as a player in the 80s and 90s and then carried on as a coach for the first team alongside our President Glenn Southwell. Steve was a great clubman and had a brilliant insight into the game. He will be sadly missed and our thoughts go out to his family.

Steve’s funeral will be held on 21 August at 13.45, at Canley Crematorium. Steve's family would like to invite Steve's friends back to Barkers' to raise a glass to this wonderful man. 💙💛

Join us on Saturday 1 August & Sunday 2 August as we come together to give our clubhouse and grounds a spruce up.

It’s a great chance for kids and grown ups to come together to keep our club looking its best and create a place we’re all proud to call home.

📅 When: Saturday 1 August – Drop in anytime between 10am–2pm (we’re aiming to finish by 4pm)

🗓️ Sunday 2 August – From 10am, finishing at 1pm with refreshments.

You don’t need to stay all day – even a couple of hours makes a huge difference.

👕 Please wear old clothes

🔨 bring gardening tools such as kneelers, secateurs or trowels. Don’t worry if you can’t – we’ll have tools and cleaning supplies available.
