Congratulations to Berna for winning her match today and becoming the unbadged singles champion 🏆 well done 👏

Just thought we could take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous flowers around the greens at the moment, absolutely thriving in this bright weather (unlike the rest of us who are constantly looking for our sunglasses this summer).

Come down and play some bowls, take some pictures and have a few games with friends inside our club house! Feel free to come down and visit us on a Tuesday afternoon when there’s always something on, enjoy a soft drink or an alcoholic one (this weather really warrants a nice fruity cider!) and see what we’re all about, you won’t regret it!

Stoke bowling club

Some late nights and long shadows at Stoke Bowling club this summer. This place surprises me with how beautiful it is all the time, especially in the summer with its blossoming flowers, beautiful vibrant greens and somewhat ridiculous tropical weather (but we can’t take the credit for that).

Come and enjoy it with us and check us out on a Tuesday evening, there’s darts, bowls, snooker, and more pints than you could shake a stick at, especially with our new addition of Inches cider! Perfect for this gorgeous warm weather and to enjoy with a few friends over some games.

Just a simple yet important post this week to wish everyone well, and remind everyone that it is record- breaking heat this week so we want to ensure that everyone is staying out of the direct sun, drinking loads of water, limiting excercise and trying your best to KEEP COOL.

It may look beautiful and sunny but this is dangerous heat. Instead of bowling on the green to end this week why not come inside and have a game of snooker and some drinks at our lovely bar inside the club!

There will be plenty of opportunity to bowl once it has cooled down. If you are bowling this week ( you crazy bowls obsessed people out there ) make sure you have a hat, a water bottle and regular breaks.

One tip I have in this heat is that if you are too hot and can’t sleep, try going for a cold shower and leaving your hair wet, and sleeping on a towel, this is a little hack I have done for the past few years and works like a charm.

We’ve been having some absolutely beautiful evenings here at Stoke Bowling Club. There’s been some very hot days recently but don’t worry because our green is being very well looked after and we have plenty of refreshments to go around for our lovely members.

Here’s to a beautiful summer and a gorgeous bowling season in our little slice of paradise!
