Conwy Classical Music Festival

A great way to round off the festival! On Saturday evening Côr Meibion Bro Aled and Côr CantiLena, both under the direction of Angharad Ellis, plus mezzo soprano Erin Fflur brought the 2026 festival to a triumphant conclusion. The accompanists were Ann Edwards, Catherine Barnett, and Chris Roberts. Noson i’w chofio go iawn!

The second concert in our Friday evening double-bill was a candle-lit recital on the triple harp by Maximilian Ehrhardt, who gave us a stunning insight into the world of this instrument, which is so much connected with the music of Wales.

A superb recital by tenor Dafydd Jones accompanied at the piano by the legendary Brian Hughes got Friday evening off to a flying start. Diolch o galon i’r ddau ohonoch chi.

A great concert at lunchtime yesterday by the Fitzsimmon Ensemble; their second concert of the week. Haydn’s ’Sunrise Quartet’ was followed by Mendelssohn’s Piano Quartet in B minor, with its stunning final movement. Ben Powell’s fingers must have been on fire!
