MINERSS ON FIRE !!! 🔥 🎶

And the lasses make it 3 wins from 3!!
Before we get into today’s match just a little appreciation post to the whole of Ferryhill Miners ladies as a collective.

Since reforming the team, the lasses have come back stronger, more determined and a lot more resilient and this is clearly reflecting on the pitch.

That being said today’s match was the perfect example!! Tough windy conditions, a fishburn side that battled tirelessly all game and would not go away but the miners lasses pulled through and again came away with all 3 points and 5 fantastic goals to show for it! ⚽️

The togetherness of the team really showed for coaches Michael & Lou today who were really impressed with the squad as a whole. Relentless pressure, teamwork and determination got the miners over the line and a well deserved victory!

All 5 goals scored today were class, special shoutout to Brooke for an absolute worldie of a goal leaving the Fishburn keeper scrambling! Brooke’s work rate and goal earned her player of the match, well done Brooke! 🏆

⚽️⚫️🔴 Under 13’s Match Report ⚽️⚫️🔴

The Miners hosted Deerness Valley Storm on a windy September morning looking to extend their winning run to 3 games unbeaten.

We started in a familiar formation to maintain consistency and kept up the usual high pressing game, with George, Grayson, Charlie and Logan looking dangerous going forward.

The miners were creating chance after chance, mainly through Grayson on the right and his attacking runs, Logan finding him on regular occasions with through balls.

We were rewarded for the hard work when Charlie’s deflected shot went in, from there we were on the front foot. We could have created more chances had the passing being better in the final third.

Meanwhile, Brody and the defenders of Theo, Shane & Finely, were solid, strong and dealing with the difficult balls.

We got another goal through Grayson to make the score 2-0 HT, in control but also by no means done as we looked a bit shaky at times.

Second half came out and the energy was great, we continued to press forward and even the subs were enjoying themselves with Lukey and Theo on the wings 🙌🏻 both did really well - especially theo who popped up with two goals from left wing. Lucas was unluckily not to score too after hitting the post.

We added more goals through Charlie slotting home neatly & finely converting after staying composed.

Overall solid performance which could have been improved with passing and trusting teammates but MOTM was Logan, who dictated play, broke up their attacks and got us on the front foot.

Their coach chose Finley as MOTM too, so both get it.

Well done, 9 points on the board and we head into cup weekend with confidence high.

P.S get well soon Owen, that one’s for you!!! ❤️

Thanks to sponsors DHM Padel

Under 16s match report ⚫️🔴⚫️🔴⚫️🔴⚫️🔴

Today we welcomed Swalwell Swifts....

First half didnt go the way we planned we absorbed a lot of prssure early on the back 4 did an amazing job keeping the game at 0-0 then we started to take control and we took the lead through a ball from Oliver Keenan to Dylan Vayro who took it weel and put it away........... half time we were 1-0 up.

Half time team talk was different to normal where the lads understood we wernt at our best......... we woke up and started playling like the team we are....... Dylan Vayro played a great pass to Ethan Kay who put it away with a gret finish....... the other team had a throw in which Ethan Kay put the pressure on and nicked the ball off the defender and and passed it into the bottom corner for his second of the game........ as the game went on frustrations showed from the other team and they had a player sent off....... with 10 mins left they tried to play out from the back and a ball played across the box Ryan Symons saw the pass nipped in front of the defender and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.......

Well done to Blessing Zwayne for another man of the match.... worked hard all game with some great footwork and great vision and an all round solid game well done kid keep it up.........

Thanks again to the parents for thier amazing support

Ferryhill Miners under 14’s made the short trip to Coxhoe United in the league today.

Ferryhill got off to flying start in the first minute of the game when Declan played a nice ball into Benny to smash home in off the bar to make it 1-0.

Ferryhill controlled a lot of the ball and created some further chances but the Coxhoe goalkeeper made some great saves to keep the score 1-0. Joey then had a shot that rebounded into the path of Louis W to make it 2-0.

With Ferryhill controlling most of the possession and playing some brilliant football against the run of play Coxhoe scored to make it 2-1 and bring themselves back into the game.

Then 2mins later the scores were level when Coxhoe equalised to make it 2-2.

Ferryhill then had to be patient and eventually got the 3rd just before half time when Benny played in Louis W to smash home his second of the game to make it 3-2.

Half time Coxhoe United 2-3 Ferryhill Miners

Into the 2nd half and there was chances at both ends with Ferryhill and Coxhoe hitting the bar.

Ferryhill then got the 4th when Louis W slipped in Dylan to finish into the corner of the net to make it 4-2 to give Ferryhill some breathing space.

Literally 2mins Ferryhill got a 5th when George played a ball to Declan to bury the ball into the corner of the net.

Louis W then completed his hat trick in the game to make it 6-2 with another great finish.

Benny then made his 3rd assist of the game when Louis W smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 7-2 and score his 4th of the game and his 7th in two games.

Coxhoe created some problems with 10-15mins to go and were awarded a penalty which was missed. However 5mins later another penalty was awarded in which Coxhoe converted to make it 7-3.

Full Time Coxhoe 3-7 Ferryhill Miners United

MOTM’s today were Declan and Benny who worked hard and played some great football throughout the game well done lads 👏👏
