A different field altogether for us this week!

We are a recreational football group, focused on adult wellbeing, community impact and sustainability ..

If you're at Ideas Fest and you like football at any level, fond of coffee and could spend forever talking about the merits or demerits of a bacon sandwich, then I would ❤️ to bump into you!

In two days time I will be hopping on a train or two, getting ready to attend Ideas Fest often described as the Glastonbury for business, where I will be in a field rubbing shoulders with 6000 people festival style ..

On behalf of the North Wales Dragons Community Football Teams I will be listening and learning from people on the stages, who have had success at building empires and their high's and lows to get there ..

I am also looking forward to meeting people who are also there to gather knowledge, those who are in coffee queues, sat at picnic benches, collecting their bacon butties, filling their water bottles, they will also have their journeys, their hopes and dreams, and this is what inspires me ..

If ordinary people have hopes and dreams, then even with the imposter syndrome aand anxiousness I will be taking with me, we at the Dragons have them too ...

We have a slightly different entrepreneurial approach, it's not how many pockets we can fill but more like how many ❤️ we can fill, and how many lives we can change ..

If you're going to be there, please shout me, I am so eager to hear what brought you to Ideas Fest.

As the event is a space for ideas, we are putting two out there on Wednesday morning as the event kicks off ..

These may be the best ideas we have had, or the worst, but you never know until you try, right? 💡💡💡

Really though, what better space to launch than this amazing festival for business!

This past weekend, the a project bringing together AI & innovation, sustainability, culture and social impact, with North Wales firmly in the spotlight, took centre stage.

The Hikari Project promotional video, featuring the magnificent Conwy Castle, was shared with members of LOANI Leaders of all Nations International, GIA Global Innovation Alliance and GFSE Global Summit of Future Entrepreneurs, at the Claremont Hotel, London.

Our North Wales Dragons, along with Go North Wales North Wales Tourism and Bangor University we are making exciting steps for ecotourism and a more sustainable visitor economy in our region.

A Community Impact & Sustainability Hub will be launched at Bangor University on Friday 11th September 2026, when the work on the Wales Hikari Project will officially commence.

A notable thank you must be made to ASUKA KONDO for the invitation to be a part of this outstanding project.

I have spent 58 years on fields ..

Football fields, so so many football fields, watching or playing recreational football ..

. and after 17 years as a co-founder of North Wales Dragons Community Football Team I am taking to a different field altogether next week ..

I will be attending Ideas Fest an annual outdoor business and entrepreneurship festival often described as the “Glastonbury for Business” a unique and completely different field to what I am used to ..

This time last year, we made a decision to grow the Dragons, which we have been doing, given our involvement in the United Nations 'Football for the Goals' Initiative, our membership of Sports for Nature and Bridges Sustainability Science Coalition

Along the way, we have created some ideas, and what better way to test them than to take them to Ideas Fest, we can then see the reaction from seasoned founders who have either grown, or growing their own businesses ..

Another day of recreational football, playing for purpose, to make a difference ..

We have not played on grass for a while ..

It made for an entertaining game of football ..

A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen, both on the pitch and off it ..
