If last week was about the youngsters showing promise, this week was about the old guard proving they’ve still got a bit left in the tank!

The average age of 23 last week jumped to around 30 today, but it didn’t seem to matter as Colne raced into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes. The pick of the goals was a superb header back across goal from Tyler Carroll, meeting a pinpoint cross from Rhys Howard.

But despite controlling much of the first half, Colne couldn’t add to their advantage before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with two quick goals inside the opening ten minutes effectively putting the contest to bed. Weston battled hard and pulled one back, but Colne responded with two more to cap a comprehensive 7–1 win.

Man of the Match was Tyler Carroll after a brilliant hat-trick.

A week off next weekend before we’re back at home to Chatburn the following week.

Tomorrow we travel to Rimington in the first round of the Craven District Football Association Cup. It's always a treat to play on their fantastic pitch.

There's no game for our young Reserves this week so come and join us at the Ground as our First team begin their 2026/27 Cup campaigns, starting with a match against in the Craven District Football Association Cup. Kick off will be at 2pm, the bar will be open for food and refreshments and all support is welcome and appreciated.
