12 MONTHS DONE! Time for a holiday and some family time after an unbelievable year.
A massive thank you to all my athletes for the work you put in and in trusting me with your sessions. I’m truly blessed to have a great and diverse group of athletes.
Below is just a few of our highlights! Medals in Running, Judo, Rowing and an Irish Title in Boxing. Multiple players at foyle cup and the super cup, bare knuckle boxing wins and countless weekly wins from all our young footballers, weither it be a call up to the A team, a first goal or a 1st first clean sheet. I’m just lucky to part of it all.
Looking forward to my time off but I’m looking forward to getting them all back to see what we can achieve next!
Next up, a mythos and some sun!!!😉☀️

WORLD MASTERS MOUNTAIN RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP
Well they certainly didn’t go to just make numbers!!
A fantastic 3 days of mountain racing in Janské Lázně, Czech Republic
Conor, Sarah and Carolyn all did the uphill race first on Friday, 851m of climbing over 4.8 miles,
Carolyn won silver medal for the W40 ladies team.
Sunday was the classic - uphill and downhill. 570m of climbing over 5.5 mile.
Sarah won bronze medal for the W35 ladies team - again, fastest 3 count
Conor with an unbelievable 4th spot narrowly missing out in a medal against some talented athletes.
Temperatures were up towards 36° for each race so conditions were very difficult with several people collapsing.
So proud of them, they turn up every week, miles done, gym work done and ofcourse, I believe there was a cold beer or 2 after ❤️☀️🍻

Newcastle FC Academy Visit
A fantastic 4 days in Newcastle making the most of the nutrition and S&C staff.
Overall
A very welcoming academy with the friendliest staff. After a morning spent with head of performance I was given access to how the academy runs on a day to day basis all
the way through to pre season, in season and out of season! The detail and the amount of staff they have is fantastic and a lot of work goes in to providing the best sessions for all
the academy boys, from pitch based, to gym, physio and nutrition.
Nutrition
It was pleasing to see how much emphasis they put on nutrition and the quality of food provided for players within the academy. Chris, the head nutritionist has put an amazing framework in place to help all the lads fuel their days, non training days, training days and match days. Although during the day the academy feed the lads, a big push on them individually when the are not in the academy to continue to eat well and be ready and fuelled for every session. I’ll be working closely with Chris over the coming months to provide even more information to my athletes on better fuelling and can’t thank Chris enough for sharing all his knowledge 👌
Strength and Conditioning
Head of S&C James shared Newcastles way of running sessions, how they go about building an athlete and testing to make sure the are getting the best out of each player. The testing equipment was incredibly detailed and data is readily available at a touch of a button! Again, I’d like to thank James for his input and time spent taking me through everything.
Overall a great trip and ultimately will just benefit my athletes for 2026/27 season.
Up the Geordies! 😉❤️💪

END OF SEASON
What are the plans for my football/rugby athletes who are finishing up or are already finished up their season?
I like and they tend to like this phase as it involves a more traditional gym goer workout, working on muscle building! Now, let’s be clear not muscle building to turn them into bodybuilders but for many moving into a new age group, up against bigger lads and for some even into senior games I like to think we can add a little size over the coming months before pre season!
It’s also a break from the work they do on training to perform every week to working on getting bigger!
We don’t ignore, strength or power but there is a shift at the end of the season.
Pre Season comes around quick so a break in July and back at it again!
Thanks to Dylan Kirkpatrick who called in last week for a few hours and caught some shots of our juniors, top man ❤️💪
