Huge congratulations to Katie Clark, who scored her first-ever Hole in One at Braintree Golf Club yesterday!

Playing in the Harris Bowl quarter-finals against West Essex, Katie hit a superb shot on the 7th hole – only discovering the ball had gone in when they reached the green and were greeted by a huge cheer! 👏

Congratulations to our Stoke by Nayland Ladies team, who have reached the quarter finals of the Essex County Harris Bowl competition! 👏⛳

After an impressive league campaign, the team secured the 4-1 victory they needed over Thorndon Park in their final match to progress to the knockout stages. A brilliant achievement by everyone involved, with Barby Jones sealing the decisive fourth win on the 18th hole.

Good luck to the team as they take on West Essex in the quarter finals later this month. We're all behind you! 💙

PSA Testing Event

Stoke-By-Nayland Golf Club is proud and honoured to host the Dick Chalmers Annual Testing Event on Thursday 21st May, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.

This important event continues our tribute to our dear friend Dick Chalmers, whose memory inspires us each year. In partnership with the Graham Fulford Trust, we carry forward a mission he would be proud of: helping men take simple, proactive steps to protect their health through PSA blood testing.

We invite all men aged 40+ - whether or not they are members of our club - to register for a PSA blood test. Early detection remains one of the most effective tools to reducing the impact of prostate cancer. Men aged 50+ and those with a father or brother who has had prostate cancer are at elevated risk, making regular testing more important. The cost of £28 per person goes directly to the charity.

This event is more than a test - it’s a chance for men to be proactive about their wellbeing, honour Dick’s legacy, and join a growing national effort to raise awareness of prostate cancer. So tell your friends and family about the event, book online to get a time and we look forward to welcoming you on the day!

On Saturday 4th October, SbN hosted its inaugural Ryder Cup competition. In total, 64 members took part, with the teams split evenly into a red team and a blue team competing in a pairs match play format. The red team (Gainsborough) came out the winners this year, 8.5-6.5, but the blue team will be looking to get their revenge next year as we plan to make this an annual thing!

A big thanks to Affinia Accountants, Business and Tax Advisers, who sponsored the day and helped out by buying a replica Ryder Cup for us to play for.

We hope to put on more of these events moving forward, so keep an eye out!
