One of the biggest and most active dinghy sailing clubs on the east coast of England, offering competitive and social sailing for all ages and abilities.

The club is one of the oldest, largest dinghy and certainly friendliest sailing clubs in the East of England. The Club is situated on the north east coast of Essex where the Colne Estuary meets the North Sea. BSC offers sailing in sheltered waters at all times of the tide for, dinghies, catamarans, and windsurfers and caters for novices to national champions. Complementing the terrific sailing programme is an active social scene that welcomes both new-comers and life-long members.

Many thanks to Advantage Sails for sorting our very tired rib seats on Brisail 1 & 2! Much smarter and less soggy for all our rib helms and crews 👏🏼⛵️

We’ve just finished our final youth course of the year. Although the weather wasn’t always on our side, the children did brilliantly. From no wind to lots of wind, rain and sunshine — we had it all! 🌦️
Many of the children were sailing for the very first time, and it’s fantastic to hear that they’re already asking about next year’s courses. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow and, most importantly, how much they’ve enjoyed being out on the water.
This year, we’ve had more than 400 children sailing, many of them for the first time. We hope they’ve all caught the sailing bug and will be back on the water again soon!
None of our courses would be possible without the fantastic support of our volunteers, AIs and DIs. I’ve said it many times, but it really is a pleasure to have you working with the school. Thank you for giving your time, enthusiasm and experience — it is hugely appreciated. 👏
We’re now busy working on the dates for next year’s courses. If you’d like to come back and join us, keep an eye on the club calendar.

Final day of the 2000 Class Association National Championships and what a fantastic opportunity it has been for us to have some of our cadets in our race management team. The girls have been time keeping, recording results and learning how to set a windward mark- BSC future is looking bright! ⭐️⛵️

We have just completed our RYA youth course, more than 30 children received certificates and all said they had a fantastic time. The weather and tide was just perfect for teaching with light winds and very high tides.
The course would not be possible without the help of all of our instructors and volunteers, you really are a great team to work with.

We are urgently looking for volunteers to run breakfast on 18,19&20 August ⬇️
