Team Wivenhoe had a great time at Midsummer Fight's Dream, a perfect entry into HEMA competition, hosted by OSS

Peter and Zak both fought exceptionally well in their first tournament showing outstanding technique, control and sportsmanship and picking up 1st and 4th places, winning all their fights, except when they matched up with each other in the final round.

Unfortunately we say goodbye to Peter this week but nice to send him off with a gold medal in his pocket, and wishing him all the best at his next club!

Well done to all fencers and huge thanks to all the staff and organisers.

Very proud to host the first Wessex League event of the year. Awesome job from everyone in Wivenhoe HEMA who fought across 5 different categories, and provided a lot of the volunteer power that made the event a success! Big congratulations to Sylvie on her medal.

Wivenhoe HEMA hard at work on tournament prep ahead of hosting the first leg of the this weekend. Fencing, coaching each other, and practicing the True Ancient Arts of laying out funny shaped pistes, forgetting to start the clock in HEMA Scorecard, and politely disregarding fencers disgusted looks when you fail to see their hits.

Please note this means we are holding back some places in the Open tournaments until we know what capacity is needed for Womens+. If you miss out on an Open ticket in the first round of bookings please do sign up to the waiting list as there is a high chance you will get in when we release more places!

Had a great time in Exeter last weekend teaching Four Animals of Fiore at the excellent sparring day organised by ESG, and going back to my roots with the wonderful folks of IDC where I started HEMA 15 years ago!
