ℹ️ Customer update: Codsall Leisure Centre refurbishment

Following our earlier announcement, we are sharing further information about the refurbishment programme beginning at Codsall Leisure Centre on 7th September 2026.

1️⃣The first phase will focus on the reception area and pool changing facilities.

✅The pool changing rooms will receive new flooring, lighting, vanity units, sanitary facilities and lockers, together with full redecoration.

✅The reception area will also be upgraded with new flooring and lighting, a new reception desk, a revised layout and redecoration.

📅 We anticipate that the first phase of the refurbishment which is the works to upgrade the wet side changing rooms will be completed by the end of February 2027. We will keep customers updated as the programme progresses. See below for full details.

The swimming pool will remain OPEN throughout the works. Public swimming sessions and swimming lessons will continue as normal.

ℹ️ Please note the following temporary arrangements during the first phase:

✅ Temporary reception
▶️A temporary reception will be located at the front of the building.
▶️Payments will be by card only; unfortunately, cash cannot be accepted.

✅ Pool arrangements
▶️All public swimming sessions and swimming lessons will continue to run as normal.
▶️The existing pool changing rooms, showers and lockers will be unavailable.
▶️Swimmers should arrive swim-ready and follow the guidance below.

✅ Swimming guidance
▶️Where possible, please arrive swim-ready, with your swimwear already on underneath your clothing as this will help to ensure a fast and smooth transition between swimming sessions.
▶️Temporary male and female changing rooms will be available for customers to use.
▶️Lockers will not be available, so please leave valuables at home and keep any essential belongings with you.
▶️Please bring all belongings with you and store them safely on the poolside during your session, helping to keep the changing areas clear and your belongings as safe as possible.
▶️After swimming, you may use the temporary male and female changing rooms to dry off, remove wet swimwear and change into warm, dry clothing. Showers will not be available. ▶️Alternatively, you may dry off and leave wearing a dry robe.
▶️For privacy and safety, changing or un******ng on the poolside is not permitted.

🚾 Toilet facilities
▶️Temporary toilets will be available outside the front of the building.
▶️Where possible, please use toilet facilities before travelling to the centre.

⏰ Please allow a little extra time on your first visit to become familiar with the temporary access routes.

These arrangements are necessary so the refurbishment can be completed safely while the swimming pool remains open.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation

Refurbishment of Codsall Leisure Centre.

A refurbishment programme will begin on 7 September 2026. The works will include the reception area and pool changing facilities.

The swimming pool will remain open throughout the works, with public swimming sessions and swimming lessons continuing as normal.

During the first phase of the refurbishment:
Temporary reception
• Located at the front of the building
• Card payments only—unfortunately, no cash will be accepted

Pool arrangements
• The pool- public swimming sessions and swimming lessons remain open as normal
• Pool changing rooms, showers and lockers will be unavailable
• Swimmers must arrive swim- ready and follow the 'Robe and Go' guidance below

Toilet facilities
• Temporary toilets will be located outside the front of the building
• Where possible, please use toilet facilities before travelling to the centre

Swimmers: Dry changing space will be available during this phase. However, pool changing rooms, showers and lockers will be unavailable, so swimmers should arrive swim-ready and use the temporary poolside changing arrangements.

Customers should wear suitable outer clothing or a changing robe over swimwear when arriving and leaving the centre. After swimming, swimmers will be able to towel dry in temporary changing arrangements before leaving the centre. Changing or un******ng on poolside will not be permitted.

Please allow a little extra time on your first visit while you familiarise yourself with the temporary access routes.

These temporary arrangements are needed so the works can be carried out safely while the swimming pool remains open. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

The Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) is a simple tool that helps identify when people aged 65+ may need extra support with their health, wellbeing, and daily activities.
✅ Supports a person-centred approach to care
✅ Helps provide the right support at the right time
✅ Encourages better health and wellbeing outcomes
✅ Can help prevent crises and reduce hospital admissions

VCSE organisations can use the CFS to spot when someone may need additional support, connect them with local services, and help them stay active, independent, and engaged in their community.
