This Sunday our u12’s again travel to Wath brow for another semi final.

If last weeks fixture with only 6 points separating the teams is anything to go by then we are in for another entertaining fixture.

The young Broughton side will be hoping to keep their season going and get the win.

🌹 BROUGHTON RED ROSE U15s 16–4 WOOLSTON ROVERS U15s 🌹

A really good, hard-fought win for the lads today against a tough Woolston Rovers side.

It was a scrappy opening with both teams going at each other and defending well, but we eventually opened the scoring after some nice play put Harry into space. He was brought down just short, but from the quick play-the-ball Robson spotted his chance and went over from dummy half.

We were in again not long after when Robson found Bailey with a great ball out wide, and Bailey did really well to finish in the corner under pressure.

Woolston hit back before the break to make it 8–4 and from there it turned into a real battle.

The second half was fiercely contested and we had to work hard for everything. Eventually some really good play through the middle opened things up and Alfie was set free down the left. Once he was away there was no catching him, and he went under the sticks for a great try. Robson added the conversion.

Things got a bit heated towards the end, with Woolston having two players sent off following separate incidents. Robson then knocked over the latter penalty to round things off at 16–4.

There were a few unforced errors from us today, but the pleasing thing was how we reacted to them. We recovered well, defended for each other and never really allowed Woolston to take advantage.

Most of all, it was a great effort from the whole squad. Every lad played his part today, including everyone who came off the bench. 👏🌹

The business end of the season for our u12’s is now upon us.

It’s been a long and largely succesful season for this group of players in their first taste of competitive rugby.

The team have come a long way through the season and grown as players and a team.

We start with the first of our two semi finals this Sunday 11AM we are away in the county cup semi final to top of the league Wath Brow. A tough task for sure but we look forward to the challenge.

All support to try and help try and get them over the line is much appreciated.

Yesterday our U12s entertained Hensingham ARLFC U13s in a home friendly.

It was a great opportunity for our U12s to test themselves against a much bigger and older side.

Despite being low on numbers and, due to injury, having to play 30 minutes with only 12 players on the pitch, the Broughton lads showed real mental toughness to keep going right to the very end.

In patches we played some lovely rugby, moving the ball really well and making line breaks, with Kaleb and Adam crossing the whitewash for our tries.

Unfortunately, playing a man short and with the mismatch in size and speed, Hensingham found space and exploited it, showcasing their athleticism to score 7 converted tries, 5 of which were from inside their own half.

Referee's Man of the Match: Adam - with the physical side of rugby being one of strong points to his game, he really stood up to the challenge of a bigger, older side.

Opposition's Man of the Match: Shared between Freddy and Finn - with their smaller stature, fast feet and great footwork, they were both elusive in attack.

Well done to Hensingham, thank you for the fixture and good luck in your next game.
