⛳️ Another amazing Junior Competition at Cleethorpes Golf Club! ⛳️

Today saw a bit of history as we held our first-ever 18-hole Blue Tee Junior Competition! With two gross course records up for grabs, the juniors had been getting very excited about this one! 👏🏻🏆

22 juniors took to the field, with many playing their first-ever 18 holes, while some of our older juniors were also experiencing our new Blue Tee course for the very first time.

And it certainly didn’t disappoint! 🔥⛳️

An incredible Net 49 (-11)! 🤯👏🏻

👧 Girls – Poppy Smith
A fantastic Net 56 (-6)! Poppy put together an excellent front nine which set her up beautifully for the round. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

A fantastic 64 (+4)! Brilliant golf, especially considering Finlay hasn’t played this course a great deal. 👏🏻🔥

The new course records will now be going up in the clubhouse… let’s see if they survive until next year’s competition! 😬🤣🏆

🥧 And finally… the new craze has officially hit the junior section!

The hot sausage rolls and pies have taken over, with cheesy chips taking a temporary step back on this fixture! 😂

⛳️ IT’S A WRAP ON OUR A TEAM SEASON! ⛳️

Our final A Team match of the season saw us take on Kenwick Park Golf Club, and what a way to finish! 👏🏻

After a fantastic first season back in the A League, we’ve had a few wins, a few losses, plenty of competitive matches and, most importantly, lots of experience gained by our juniors. Today, we finished the season in style with a brilliant 2-1 victory! 👏🏻

Today was also a very special occasion for our Boys Captain, Brody, who had the honour of leading the team out for their final match of the season.

But this wasn’t just Brody’s last match of the season… it was his last ever match as a junior. ❤️

Brody has been a fantastic Captain and a genuinely lovely young man to have around the club. Taking on the Captain’s role has given him experiences, responsibilities and memories that will stay with him for years to come — and it’s certainly something that will be a great addition to his CV as he takes his next steps into adulthood.

We’ve watched Brody grow and develop over the years, both on and off the golf course, and if what we’ve seen so far is anything to go by, there is a very bright future ahead of you, Brody. 🌟

A huge well done to Isabel, Brody and the whole A Team on a fantastic first season back in the A League. You’ve done the club proud! 👏🏻⛳️

A Team Match 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

Our A Team went up against Grant and his team from Market Rasen Golf Club today in what was a fantastic and very competitive match.

Both teams played some brilliant golf, with plenty of great matches and some excellent golf from both sides. On this occasion, it was Market Rasen who came away with the win, taking the match 2–1.

Although it wasn’t our day on the scoreboard, our juniors gained some really valuable experience from another tough A League fixture. This is our first season in the A League, and the experience these young golfers are getting from every match will be invaluable going forward. 💪🏻⛳️

A big well done to all our juniors for competing right to the end, a great speech from our junior boys Captain Brody and a huge thank you to Grant and the Market Rasen team for a great match and some fantastic sportsmanship. 👏🏻

We hope the Market Rasen juniors enjoyed the course and the condition it was in today — the course was looking absolutely fantastic! 🌿⛳️

On to the next one! 💙🏌️‍♂️

Our last Development Squad fixture of the season, and what a treat it was! ⛳️🔥

Today we went up against Grimsby Golf Club and the match had absolutely everything — competitiveness, fieriness, friendliness, edginess, a little controversy, and most importantly, three absolutely cracking games of golf! 👏🏻

It was fantastic to see Grimsby back in the Development League, with some fantastic talent in their team. It’s a real sign that the hard work Andrew, Karl, Paul and the rest of their Junior Organisers are putting in is getting the section back on track. 👏🏻

Hayden and Charlie did a fantastic job captaining their teams too — a special mention to one of our younger Juniors Jacob Cullen, played in our 9 hole Monday shield this morning, then played 18 holes matchplay, stepping in 10 minutes before tee time, went on to win his match along side Brooke and still went for a private lesson straight after his match, incredible dedication 👏🏻

All three matches went right down to the wire, finishing 1-up, 1-down and 2&1, with Cleethorpes eventually coming away 2-1 winners! 🎉⛳️

A brilliant way to finish the Development Squad season.

More of these matches next season please! 💪🏻⛳️

🇨🇦 Canada are getting a very special young man! 🇨🇦

Today we’d like to say a massive goodbye to one of our Juniors, Dougie. 💙⛳️

Dougie is an absolutely fantastic young man, a real pleasure to have around the club and a huge credit to his parents. He has always been polite, friendly, encouraging to others and a brilliant part of our junior family.

We’re going to miss seeing you around the club, Dougie, but we’re so excited for the next chapter of your adventure in Canada! 🇨🇦✈️

Go smash it, Dougie — make some amazing memories and keep being the brilliant young man you are! 👏🏻⛳️

Monday Shield 4️⃣🏆

That’s a wrap on the last Monday Shield of the season! ⛳️

29 juniors took to the course for one final chance to either get their third score in or shoot a better score and discard their worst score from the three rounds.

We won’t be revealing the overall competition winners just yet… 🤫🏆
They’ll all find out at Presentation Night, making it a great surprise after four fantastic and very competitive rounds!

A huge thank you to all our Junior Organisers who gave up four Sundays throughout August to run this brilliant competition. Your time and effort is hugely appreciated! 👏🏻👏🏻

And of course, a massive thank you to the catering team for keeping the juniors fuelled with what seemed like an endless conveyor belt of cheesy chips! 😂🧀🍟

37 juniors took to the course across 5 different competitions, and what a fantastic day of golf it was.

The juniors showed great sportsmanship throughout, competing hard but always encouraging and supporting each other. It was brilliant to see so many of them enjoying their golf and giving everything out on the course. ❤️👏🏻
