Moonstones Blue vs Chadderton Park Movers

Moonstones took to court in the Bury league against Chaddeton Park Movers. The game started evenly matched as we found our feet. We took some time to settle losing ball possession giving ourselves lots of work to do. Defense worked tirelessly to force errors taking the turnovers. There were moments of very slick play and strong connections taking the ball up court. This game went to the final few minutes with only a straight 7 the team refused to be beaten and their resilience and team work pulled in the win. Lots to take to training and lots to be proud of.

Moonstones pinks played their first match in this Winter season for the Lancs League..
A great match showing so much potential around ball placement … movement up the court and attacking circle play …
Defence was strong forcing mistakes and gaining turn overs mid court.

A truly amazing effort considering the summer break ..
All 4 quarters showed communication and great ball placement up towards the attacking quarter ..

Emeralds Blue 21 -20 DNA U15 White
A neck and neck game throughout which kept all spectators on the edge of their seats. This wasn’t a tidy game from our perspective with a number of basic errors but we pushed forward to fight back when we crept behind at times. Players showed versatility in different positions to aim for the best combinations and we grabbed the last goal to win in the final seconds of the game.

Rubies played Charlestown Comets today in a tough match. With one of our team injured we had to shuffle things around which was tricky for the coach and players! We didn’t quite find our rhythm today and made a lot basic mistakes which cost us goals. But, as ever, we didn’t give up and the team listened to advice on how to tweak their game especially Patrycja who forced a very good centre to work much harder after a quick discussion during one of the quarter breaks. We lost a bit of confidence in the game today and this meant that slowed our play down which gave Charlestown the advantage. We go again next week hopefully more prepared.

Sparklers last match of the season welcomed a new player. The team did really well with some of their passing up court and moving into space. Defending was also really good with lots of interceptions and tips. The team had a few opportunities to shoot which is great. Well done team you all worked very hard. The team have also been working on their Bee-ingo cards and their St-ingo cards, where they colour in bees when coaches see them perform skills and display qualities of Bee netball.
Well done team.
