🎾 Don’t let September stop the summer habits.

The holidays are over, the schools are back and life is getting busy again.

But that does not mean the racket has to go away until next summer.

September is a brilliant time to keep playing. The courts are quieter, the weather can still be great and tennis gives you a reason to get outside, stay active and switch off for an hour.

Keep playing. Keep moving. Keep enjoying it. 🎾

September is here… but summer isn’t over…

The schools are back, holidays are coming to an end and everyone is back into their usual routines.

But with another warm and sunny day in Chinnor, there is still plenty of time to make the most of the courts.

Whether you want to:

🎾 One more day of the weekend. One more reason to get on court.

It’s the August Bank Holiday, so if you’ve got a little extra time today, why not spend some of it outside with a racket in your hand?

Whether it’s a family hit, a game with friends, a competitive set or simply getting back on court after a few years away, tennis is a pretty good way to spend a Bank Holiday. 💚

💚🎾 Not just a club. A place to belong.

There are plenty of places you can play tennis.

But a tennis club should be about more than simply booking a court.

It’s turning up for a game and knowing there’ll be someone to play with.

It’s club nights, league matches, coaching and social tennis.

It’s Walking Tennis and Pickleball. It’s a drink together after a game. It’s meeting people you might never otherwise have met.

It’s competitive when you want it to be, relaxed when you don’t.

And sometimes it’s simply getting outside, picking up a racket and enjoying an hour on court. ☀️🎾

That’s what we want Chinnor Tennis Club to be.

A local club where everyone is welcome and there are lots of different ways to get involved.

Our next Chinnor Tennis Social is coming up on Wednesday 26th August, and everyone is welcome.

This is one of the easiest ways to come and see what Chinnor Tennis Club is all about. You don’t need to be a member, you don’t need to be an expert, and you don’t need to know anyone already at the club.

Just come along, have a hit, meet a few people and then join us afterwards for a drink at The Pavilion, Chinnor.

🎾 Looking for something to do this summer holiday? 🎾

The courts at Chinnor Tennis Club are available to book on a Pay & Play basis, so you don’t need to be a member to come down and have a hit.

It’s a great option if you want to get the family out, play with friends, or try the courts before deciding whether to join.

All levels are welcome, whether you’re new to tennis, getting back into it, or already play regularly.

Members can book courts for free, and membership also gives access to club sessions, coaching, match play opportunities, social events and use of the ball machine.

🎾 Keeping the courts in great condition 🎾

A big thank you to the Chinnor Tennis Club committee members and volunteers who gave up their time on Saturday to help protect and maintain the courts.

The team were working on a new, deeper root membrane to help protect the court surface from tree root movement and keep the courts in the best possible condition for members, Pay & Play visitors and everyone who uses the club.

It’s the kind of work that often happens behind the scenes, but it makes a huge difference. By doing more of this ourselves where we can, we’re able to look after the club properly while also helping to keep membership costs as low and competitive as possible.

Thank you to everyone involved — and to our youngest helper too! 👏🎾
