Congratulations to Sheenagh Broadhurst on her 250 parkrun this morning.

29/08/2026

Undeterred by the traditional Bank Holiday weekend weather 267 of you ran or walked this morning, this was only possible due to intrepid gang of volunteers, well done all.
The roster is looking a tad sparse for next week when Rob takes the helm, let’s see if can deliver him a full complement of volunteers and spare him any mid week anxiety.

Hi all, hope you’re having a great week. Only a couple of days left before we go again, but to do so we are need of at least 3 marshals. Please let us know if you are able to help.
As always either reply to this post or email us at [email protected]

Chichester parkrun report 22nd August 2026 #544

It was a great day for a parkrun, an even better day for a parkrun at Oaklands Park in Chichester.
This was my first visit to Chichester parkrun, I parked in the Northgate Car Park and it is a short walk to the start next to Chichester Festival Theatre.
A warm and sunny morning greeted the 375 parkrunners supported by 26 volunteers - who week in and week out make sure we all have a fun (and safe) event, so big thanks to them.
The course is 3 laps of Oaklands Park on undulating, predominately grass tracks. It is narrow in places but generally plenty of room for passing, single buggies and dogs on leads. The course itself provides some shade. There was a comprehensive run briefing and it is well marshalled by supportive and happy volunteers.
The parkrun was completed by Alexander Butler (M) in 16:54 (PB) and Esme Rowbotham (F) in 20:26 (PB), the fastest times of the day and the tail walkers Emma Wickens & Johanna Harrison in 1:04:27 – I hope this emphasises the range of abilities parkrun (run, walk or skip) can provide for and how inclusive parkrun is.
For me it is what I do on a Saturday morning, like millions more, it is great for my health & well-being and keeping my fitness ticking over each week. It was my first visit to Chichester parkrun and it is a pleasant alternative from my local parkrun in Lee on the Solent which is along the prom.
There were also visitors from Worthing, Wi******er, Basingstoke, Sevenoaks, Bristol, Guildford, Maidstone, Manchester, Botley and Gillingham.
A shout out for the Run Academy Worthing group who did a naked run (do not worry, its just running without a watch!) and the group running in Tutu’s for the date.
Well done to the 6 first timers and the 86 visiting Chichester for the first time – see you all again soon. There were also 59 PBs – awesome.
There were running milestones for Colin Hancock (350), Eric Wood (250), Biff Baker (200), Richard Pullen (50), Pete Leggett (50), Daniel Anstey (50), Paola Sammarco (50), Patrick Brownlee Smith (50), Jon Marler (25), Dominic Mckenzie (25) and Freddie Pollard (10).
As always we like to personally thank all the top volunteers who were ……
Jeremy HARRISON, Colin HANCOCK, Eric WOOD, Mary BUTCHER, Louise DAVIS, Tetyana HOLOVKO, Steven RAMSAY, Andy SAYCH, Rachael SHIPHAM, Wendy WHELAN, Phil WISDOM, Ian STEVENS, Martine WISDOM, Emir KIRIS, Oliver RICHMAN, Helen TUPSY, Shreya TUPSY, Joshua WARDLEWORTH, Liz STANLEIGH-TURNER, Cally LEGGETT, Blue DAVIES, Johanna HARRISON, Aaron BAKER and Philip COOK
….. without them it aint gonna happen, so please do take the opportunity to volunteer when you can and be part of this excellent group of folks.
There are volunteering roles to suit everyone and its good fun to be a part of the team. Please email [email protected] to find out how you, or your friends and family can get involved.

Happy parkrunning folks – Blue Davies

Good evening parkrunners, we have a full roster so we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at 850a for the briefings at Oaklands Park. Forecast is sunny and a pleasant 15 degrees. The course will still be extra dry despite the recent rainfall.

See you in the morning
