Eastwood Park is through to the semi-final of the CCGBA Gents Rosebowl Competition, after a win over Hollingwood 'A' in the quarter-final.

The cup match was hosted by Robinson Bowls Club at Walton Dam on Friday 24th July 2026. The players who competed were appreciative of the quality of the playing surface despite the hot dry weather.

The winning club now goes on to play either Eckington or Wingerworth in the semi-final scheduled for Friday 7th August 2026 at a neutral ground still to be allocated.

Congratulations to our quiz team 'Dambusters Belle', which are the 2025 winners of 'The Legendary Chesterfield Rotary Quiz Night' held at Loundsley Green Community Centre on Thursday 6th November 2025.

They now hold the legendary Quiz Trophy for the next 12 months, and also received a tipple or three, in what was a highly competitive, but very enjoyable, quiz night.

The event raised funds for Chesterfield Rotary and its work in the community, and this year, local charity 'The Elm Foundation', which supports adults and children affected by domestic abuse

Well done to (from l to r) Andy Moore, Edwina Mansell, Philip Robinson, Bee Stafford, John Wattret, which were one of three quiz teams entered by Robinson Bowls Club.

End of term for our weekly Beginners Sessions and recognition for club member Barbara Stafford, who has hosted what we call our 'ducklings' group every Thursday morning at a tranquil Walton Dam for the last six months.

At the last formal session of the 2025 season, held on Thursday 25th September 2025, club chairman, Geoff Mitchell, presented Barbara with a bouquet of flowers by way of thanks, surrounded by not so much former ducklings, but now more like fully fledged ducks and drakes.

Barbara will be re-opening a new season of beginners sessions in 2026 for anyone interested in giving crown green bowls a try, expected to start next year, from Thursday 9th April 2026.

For more information ring Marilyn Blackwell on 07967 262856 or email [email protected]
