SOMETIMES YOU DON’T NEED MORE MOTIVATION. YOU JUST NEED SOMEONE TO NOTICE WHEN YOU DON’T TURN UP. 👀

Because life gets busy.

Work gets stressful.
The kids need you.
You’re tired.
The weather’s rubbish.
And suddenly that workout you promised yourself you’d do… isn’t happening.

That’s where accountability matters.

Not someone shouting at you.

Not someone making you feel guilty.

Just someone saying:

“Where were you?” 😂

Having a coach, training partner or group around you can make a massive difference.

🤝 Someone expects you to turn up.

📅 Your sessions are booked into your week.

💪 Someone pushes you when you’re capable of more.

📈 Someone notices your progress when you don’t.

🙌 Someone celebrates the wins with you.

And most importantly…

You stop having to rely on motivation.

Because motivation comes and goes.

Accountability helps you keep going when it does.

That’s why we believe fitness should be about more than just the workout.

Good coaching. Good people. A bit of banter. And knowing someone has your back.

You don’t have to do it alone.

👉 If accountability is the thing you’re missing, DM “ACCOUNTABILITY” and let’s get you started.

THE WORKOUT ISN’T THE BEST PART OF TRAINING WITH A GROUP. 👀

It’s the people.

Because let’s be honest…

There are days when you can’t be bothered.

Days when work has been chaos.

Days when the kids have done your head in.

Days when staying on the sofa sounds MUCH better than training. 😂

That’s where training with a group makes a difference.

🤝 Accountability; people notice when you’re not there.

💪 Motivation; you push a little harder when others are around you.

😂 Enjoyment; training doesn’t have to feel like punishment.

📈 Progress; good coaching + consistency = getting better.

🧠 Confidence; you realise you’re capable of more than you thought.

❤️ Community; you start knowing people, making friends and actually looking forward to seeing them.

And that last one is HUGE.

Because when you enjoy where you train and like the people you train with…

you’re far more likely to keep turning up.

And consistency is what changes your fitness.

You don’t need to train alone with your headphones on, staring at the clock waiting for it to be over.

Find your people.

Train together.

Have a laugh.

Get stronger.

And make fitness something you actually look forward to.

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AN ATHLETE TO TRAIN LIKE ONE. 👀

Hybrid athletes are basically good at a bit of everything.

They lift weights.
They run.
They cycle.
They row.
They build their engine.
They work on strength, fitness and recovery.

And there’s actually a lot busy parents can steal from that approach.

You don’t need to specialise in one thing.

You don’t need to train twice a day.

You don’t need to spend your life in the gym.

Instead, build a body that’s strong, fit and capable.

🏋️ Strength train 2–3 times a week
Build muscle, strength and resilience.

❤️ Add some aerobic work
Walking, cycling, running, rowing or an Engine session.

🔥 Occasionally work hard
Intervals and higher-intensity sessions have their place, just don’t make every session a death march.

🚶 Move outside the gym
Your daily activity matters. Walk more. Take the stairs. Get outside.

😴 Recover
You’ve got work, kids and a life to deal with. Recovery isn’t weakness, it’s part of the plan.

The goal isn’t to become a professional athlete.

It’s to be the parent who can run around with the kids, lift heavy stuff, climb a hill, play sport and still have something left in the tank.

That’s what being fit actually means.

Strong enough. Fit enough. Capable enough.

And most importantly…

Fit for life, not just for the gym. 👊

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE PARENTS MAKE WITH FITNESS? TRYING TO TRAIN LIKE THEY DON’T HAVE KIDS. 😂

You’ve got work.
School runs.
Kids’ clubs.
Dinner.
Life.

And then you expect yourself to train 5–6 days a week, eat perfectly and never miss a session.

It’s no wonder fitness keeps getting pushed down the list.

The answer isn’t more effort.

It’s a better plan.

❌ Trying to do too much
✅ 2–3 quality sessions a week

❌ Waiting for motivation
✅ Put training in the diary

❌ Chasing quick fixes
✅ Build habits you can actually maintain

❌ Starting again every Monday
✅ Stop aiming for perfect

❌ Thinking cardio is the answer
✅ Build strength AND fitness

❌ Putting yourself last
✅ Remember you’re allowed to look after yourself too

You don’t need fitness to take over your life.

You need something that fits into your life.

And when you find that?

You’re far more likely to stick with it.

Train hard. Have a laugh. Get stronger. Still make the school run. 👊

YOUR RESULTS AREN’T BEING RUINED BY ONE BAD DAY. THEY’RE BEING RUINED BY WHAT YOU DO MOST DAYS. 👀

You don’t need more motivation.

You need better habits.

Motivation gets you started.

Habits keep you going.

Because you won’t feel motivated every time you train.

Some days you’ll be tired.
Work will be stressful.
The kids will need you.
The weather will be rubbish.
You simply won’t feel like it.

That’s normal.

The people who make lasting progress aren’t perfect.

They’ve built habits that make the right choice easier.

🏋️ Train 2–3 times every week.
🚶 Walk a little more each day.
🥩 Prioritise protein with your meals.
💧 Drink more water.
😴 Get enough sleep.
📅 Put your training in the diary.
🤝 Surround yourself with people who keep you accountable.

None of these things are particularly exciting.

But done consistently, they change everything.

Don’t try to completely change your life overnight.

Pick one habit.

Make it easy.

Do it consistently.

Then build from there.

Because you don’t need to be perfect for 28 days.

You need to build habits you can still be doing 28 months from now.

👉 What’s ONE habit you’re going to improve this week? Comment below.

Waiting to feel motivated before you train? You might be waiting a very long time. 😂

Motivation is great.

But motivation is unreliable.

Some days you wake up buzzing and can’t wait to train.

Other days you’ve had a rubbish night’s sleep, the kids have been hard work, work has been stressful and the last thing you want to do is pick up a dumbbell.

That’s where discipline comes in.

But discipline doesn’t mean forcing yourself through every session when you’re exhausted.

It means having a plan and turning up consistently enough that training becomes part of your normal routine.

And here’s where having other people around you makes a massive difference.

🤝 Someone expects you to turn up.
💪 Someone notices when you’re missing.
😂 Someone makes training enjoyable.
📈 Someone helps you keep progressing.

That’s why community and accountability matter so much at NUYU.

You don’t have to rely on feeling motivated every day.

Build a routine. Surround yourself with good people. Let consistency do the heavy lifting.

Because the people who get results aren’t motivated every day.

They just keep showing up.

If you’re struggling to get yourself back into a routine, DM us “START” and we’ll help you take the first step. 👊

Trying to lose weight? Don’t make the mistake of only chasing the scales. 👀

If fat loss is the goal, strength training should be part of the plan.

Why?

💪 It helps you hold onto muscle while you’re in a calorie deficit.

🔥 More muscle means a stronger, more capable body; not just a smaller number on the scales.

📈 You can track progress beyond weight loss; lifting heavier, doing more reps and feeling stronger are all wins.

🦴 It supports bone health and helps you maintain strength as you get older.

🧠 It changes the goal from simply “losing weight” to improving your body.

And here’s the important bit…

You don’t need to hammer yourself with endless cardio or spend 6 days a week in the gym.

Lift. Move. Eat well. Recover. Repeat.

The aim isn’t just to weigh less.

It’s to lose the fat while keeping as much strength, muscle and quality of life as possible.

That’s a much better long-term goal.

At NUYU, we help busy adults get stronger and fitter while building habits they can actually stick to.

Want to lose weight without sacrificing your strength? DM us “STRONG” and let’s chat about where to start. 💪
