⚽️ CONSETT U16 GIRLS 1–1 BIRTLEY U16 GIRLS ⚽️
👏 What a performance from the girls this morning!
Not every great performance results in 3 points, but take absolutely nothing away from this one. It was hardworking, hard-fought and well deserving of at least a point. 👏
🧤 THE DEFENCE
Kaitlyn in goal and the whole back line were brilliant! They kept us in the game when our backs were against the wall in the first half, and then stood strong again during the final 10 minutes.
Some fantastic challenges, covering and organisation from the back line. 👏
💚 MIDFIELD
Maisie covered every blade of grass, while Addi worked her socks off. The half-time switch was a great change.
Julia switched to midfield and was outstanding in the second half — and those headers! 👏
Addi was also top-notch when dropping into right-back and did a brilliant job. 💪
🔥 FRONT LINE
The front line grew into the game.
⚽️ Besto with another great goal — as usual! 😍
Liv had her best game yet in that new No.10 role and what a goal that would have been! 👏
Scarlett on the right wing fought for absolutely everything and her confidence continues to grow game by game.
On the left, Isla and Isabelle constantly interchanged and produced some brilliant link-up play. 👏
📈 THE BIG PICTURE
First half, we panicked on the ball a little too much, which invited more pressure onto us.
But the second half was a different class.
The girls fought for each other, showed great character and really took the game to Consett.
With a few very questionable offside decisions going against us, you could argue we might have taken all three points — but we’ll take the point and move on!
And let’s not forget… we turned up this morning with ONLY ONE SUB, while the opposition had an army! 😂👏
That makes the result and performance even more impressive.
