Sunday saw something of a record-breaking game at the SESSG - 16-year old Kit Schofield and 15-year old Max Toogood broke multiple records by scoring centuries, Kit ending 106* (a bat carry) and Max 164.

We'll take some time to acknowledge all of our 2026 centurions - for we have notched up 16 centuries this year alone across the league, CPL, and friendlies, and we can confirm this is our best year ever in the modern era (from 1968 to date). Our nearest years in total were 2006 and 2015 with 10 helmet off, bat raises. 2026 also included our first ever female centurion, Molly Sellars, who can be counted within the 8 maiden centurions in 2026. That is some going Bluecaps. An exclusive club - 14 members.

25.4.26 M.Ozman 111 v Cobham Avorians for 1st XI
26.4.26 Z.Edwards 118* v West Drayton and Iver for Sunday XI, aged 15 years*

30.5.26 P.Kanaiya 110* v Staines & Laleham for 4th XI*
31.5.26 B.Rowe 101 v White Waltham for Sunday XI*
13.6.26 P.Kanaiya 122* for 4th XI v Woking & Horsell
20.6.26 P.P.L. Boast 100 for 4th XI v Valley End, aged 58-ish
12.7.26 H.Aish-Lyons 130* (ret) for Sunday XI v Cranleigh
19.7.26 D.Sloan 132* for Bourne Stars v Meads Enforcers (CPL10)
26.7.26 K.Menon 101* for Chertsey v MCC (President’s Day)
23.8.26 J.Pearson 110 for Sunday XI v Kempton*
30.8.26 M.Sellars 110 for Ladies v Dulwich*

6.9.26 H.Aish-Lyons 111 for Chertsey v Broadhalfpenny Brigands (250 Year Middle Stump Anniversary)
20.9.26 K.Schofield 106* for Sunday XI v Ashford*
20.9.26 M.Toogood 164 for Sunday XI v Ashford aged 15 years

* - maiden ton

If you take a look at the honours boards adorning the club walls you will find 263 centuries in total, not including 8 CPL waiting to go up (David Sloan's is on there for 2026) which will get their own board over the winter in a nod to CPL10, but we think you'll agree we've achieved something rather special this season.

Our leaderboard for most centuries across all formats currently stands at:

R.L Dodd - 18
B. Foskett - 12
D. Hattingh - 10
S. Bussey - 9
D. Sloan - 8*
H. Aish-Lyons - 8*
K. Menon - 8*
G. Smith - 6
J. Taylor - 6*
P. Boast - 6*
P. Jay - 6

We have a couple of CCC players heading overseas this winter - Ed Marsh who (will now have landed) heads to Toorak Prahan in south-west Australia for their season, and Molly Sellars, who'll be spending her winter in Lancaster Park in Christchurch, New Zealand. We're sure you'll join us in wishing them both a huge go well, and go and do us proud!

The ground will shortly begin its renovation for the Winter, and our last job to do is the Winter Work Day which comes around on 4th October from 9am.

As ever, we need your help, so if you can help us out for whatever time you can give we'd be eternally grateful - and it keeps things all nice for when we return in Spring.

Swipe for the jobs that need to be done, and in terms of tools, we need rakes, everything else will be provided, but also bring gloves. Let us know you can make it by liking the post... if you like it, we think you're coming 😉 .
