CLOSE BATTLE FOR LADIES' OVER-60s TEAM

They had a very close match against Duffield Tennis Club in the National League at Repton, losing 3-1, with several tie breaks and some very close long games.

EAST GLOS PERFORMANCE JUNIORS DOMINATE AT TENNIS COUNTY CLOSED

The Gloucestershire County Closed, sponsored by The Mortgage Brain took place last week at East Glos. Over 100 competitors participated entrants in 32 events.

Performance coach Melissa Russell reports on an extraordinary showing for East Glos performance players.

The hard work, discipline, and grit of our players were on full display, and the results speak for themselves:
• Eighteen titles won: Out of 29 events entered, club performance players took home 18 trophies.
• Twenty finalists: In 20 separate events, our players earned well-deserved runner-up finishes.

Standout performances
• Sam Austin: An inspiration to everyone at the club, showing us all the true meaning of strength and resilience on and off the court.
• Seb: A phenomenal run, securing three county titles and one runner-up finish.
• Eva: Dominated her draws, sweeping all three of her events to take home a hat-trick of titles.

Congratulations to all the competitors and to our dedicated coaching team whose daily efforts make results like this possible.

As a club, we take huge pride in the deep experience of our coaching staff. From local county titles and national championships to securing American University scholarships and international rankings, our pathway continues to deliver top-tier results.

A grand day out in Yorkshire for East Glos ladies.

The East Glos over-50 ladies' tennis team travelled to Huddersfield yesterday to play their quarter-final match in the LTA National Club League.

It was a tough match with the opposition fielding two GB players, but our ladies fought hard and achieved a 2-2 draw. Unfortunately they lost the tie by three games, but a great day was had by all!

It's been a very successful season for the East Glos ladies' tennis teams in the Gloucestershire summer league. 78 ladies represented the club in seven teams playing 84 matches.

Club captain Marie Bell says: "A massive thank you to all my captains who managed their teams so well. Special congratulations to the A team, who won the premier league again, and to the F team who were promoted for a second year running.

🏆 Matthew wins Korea U17 tournament

Squash Junior Maverick Matthew Leung has enjoyed an excellent run playing in Far East junior open tournaments this month in Hong Kong, Korea and Japan.

Matthew had great performances and reflective development throughout, notably getting revenge against the #2 seed in the Japan Bu17 Junior Open, who he originally lost out to in the quarter-finals in Hong Kong.

Matthew's greatest successes were winning Korea Bu17 and finishing as runner-up in the Japan event.

Squash manager Mark Toseland said: "Huge congratulations from us all at East Glos, Matthew. We look forward to welcoming you back to the club on your return."

Well done the the East Glos ladies' padel blue team who recently won 4-0 against Padel X, Todenham.
