If the prospect of the summer holidays coming to an end and returning to the juggle is filling you with dread, please know this…
When life gets busy, often our go-to response is to spend more time organising.
To plan better, be more efficient; squeeze every ounce of productivity out of the day.
But let’s face it, what are we left with when we do that?
More stress. More pressure. Resting becomes impossible as we’re constantly running down our to do list.
Feeling like we can’t put things down is something that regularly comes up in my 1:1 sessions. As underneath all that pressure, there’s often:
A feeling that it’s all on our shoulders.
That we can’t rest until everything is done.
That if we don’t do it, no one else will.
And if we slip up, we’ll be letting the people we love down.
But what if the answer isn’t to squeeze more into the gaps, but to look at what we are carrying in the first place?
Using EFT Tapping, alongside yoga and nervous system practices, this is the work we explore in 1:1 and bespoke group sessions. We look at the stress you’re feeling, while exploring the patterns that keep the pressure in place.
And we realise that maybe we don’t need to get better at doing more. We need to find ways to do less.
If you’re heading into September feeling like something needs to change, DM me ‘SPACE’ and I’ll send you details of how we can work together.

Things I’m forever championing:
Let’s not wait for things to be perfect to show up for ourselves.
Showing up for ourselves isn’t something that happens when everything else is done.
We don’t have to keep going all the time.
Choosing something nourishing for ourselves isn’t selfish or something we should feel guilty for.
It’s not too late to join The Summer Sanctuary. It’s 14 days of mini practices that you can do anytime, anywhere. Suitable for all. And it’s just £25.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed and wrung out I remind myself of these things:
I’m not failing, or broken.
I’m just at my capacity.
And then I do some of these things that I know soothe my nervous system (sometimes with a bit of resistance, hi self sabotage):
I go outside and take the dog for a walk. The headspace reminds me that I don’t have to hold myself to ridiculously high standards.
When I’m feeling really up against it, I set a timer for 15/30 minutes and I do some gentle yoga. Shaking, rocking, moving with awareness. The short window feels less pressurising and then if I can, I continue for longer. But I know the small window is enough of a reset.
I do tapping. I notice what I’m holding and where I’m feeling this overwhelm. I sit with it, see where it really comes from. It moves my brain out of fight or flight so I can see more clearly. Do I need to ask for help? Say no somewhere?
I close down social media and WhatsApp. I remind myself that in this day and age we are accessible 24/7 and that can be totally overwhelming. I don’t need to reply to that message about the school fete right now. I create boundaries around things that send me into a spiral of comparison.
Before I go to bed, I mentally check in with the wins/joys of the day. I try not to make them all work-related, but also where I’ve had my own back, supported my children in a difficult moment etc.
I remind myself every day that my worth is not a result of my productivity. Sometimes I feel the frustration of this (hello Aries mani gen) but I remind myself of the power of small wins. Where I’ve chosen resting instead of doing more.
I pause before I say yes to something that adds to my plate. Check in with that inner people pleaser who can rear her head at any opportunity. Do I actually have space for this? If there is a doubt that I can, I say no.
I remind myself that this life is about joy and leaning into that whenever possible.

Just checking that you’re not waiting for that magical hour to arrive…
(And especially not in the summer holidays where time seems to evaporate in amongst all of the joy, juggle and the in between).
Here’s to celebrating - and enjoying - the power mini practices can have.
They’re a reminder that a little really does go a long way.
The Summer Sanctuary
14 days of mini recorded practices that you can do anytime, anywhere.
All yours to keep.
Just £25
If I had a £1 for every minute I have wasted overthinking…
I would probably own a castle somewhere (if I even wanted one).
Overthinking and trying to make everything perfect has stopped me from doing so very many things.
It stopped me utilising those few minutes of time for me that were hugely valuable.
Thankfully, I realised (after a long time) that overthinking what I should do in that time, looking at what other people were doing and thinking they had more discipline and giving myself a constant bashing wasn’t helping the situation.
So I came back to what made me feel good. What worked. Knowing it didn’t need to be long, or perfect.
Starting this August, I’m running The Summer Sanctuary.
It’s 14 days of mini practices that are 15 minutes or less, for you to use in that window of time that crops up in your day.
You don’t need anything to start, just you. Press play and create the ritual of doing something regulating and nourishing for you, every day.
What’s more is it’s just £25. And they’re all yours to keep.
