Pure Imaginations

Today is the beginning of the end of our little world as we know it.

And that sounds ridiculously dramatic when all that’s actually happening is… my little boy is starting nursery.

But today was our last Tuesday.

Our last Tuesday where it’s just me and him. No nursery. No work to rush off to. Just a whole day to fill with whatever we fancy. Going out, finding something fun to do, making memories out of completely ordinary things.

For over two years, his world has mostly been mine too.

And now his is getting bigger.

There will be people I don’t know making him laugh. Little friendships I’m not part of. Things he’ll learn that I didn’t teach him. Stories from his day that happened without me there.

Which is exactly how it’s supposed to be.

But no one really tells you how strange it feels when you realise you have to start sharing them with the world.

I’ve spent so much of the last two years thinking about when things will get easier. When I’ll have more time. When I’ll be able to get more done.

And now that time is actually coming…

I’m looking at this sleeping little face thinking I’d quite like one more Tuesday.

I think parenting is full of these endings you don’t realise are endings until you’re standing right in them.

So tonight I’m cuddling him a little longer.

Because next Tuesday, our worlds get a little bit bigger. ❤️

This has been going round in my head for a little while.

I don’t show my son’s face on public social media. That’s a personal choice I’ve made as his mum, particularly with how quickly technology and AI are changing.

And then I had to ask myself what about the children that come to Pure Imaginations.

So, from today, we’re changing how we share the children in our classes.

You’ll still see LOTS of them. The hands in the messy play, backs of heads disappearing into magical worlds, tiny feet, creations, friendships and all those brilliant moments I want to bottle up and show you.

You just won’t need to see who that child is.

I know everyone makes different choices around their own children online and this isn’t me saying there is a right or wrong answer. It’s simply the standard that feels right for Pure Imaginations as a public children’s business.

I’ve also tightened our in-class photography policy a little so you can still capture your own child’s memories, while protecting the privacy of everyone else in the room.

I actually think this is going to challenge me to get even better at capturing what Pure Imaginations feels like.

Because the more I’ve thought about it, the more I’ve realised…

I don’t need to show you a child’s identity to show you their experience at Pure Imaginations.

And I really love that.

One of the biggest myths about starting a business is that you have to know exactly what you’re doing before you begin.

You REALLY REALLY don’t!

I most certainly didn’t.

When I started Pure Imaginations, I wasn’t a marketing expert. I didn’t know how to build a website. I didn’t have a business degree and had zero idea how to work systems!!!

What I did have was a vision, a willingness to learn and a determination to keep going when things felt difficult.

That’s why I’m so passionate about franchising.

Not because I want to create lots of Pure Imaginations branches.

Because I don’t want someone else to spend years trying to figure everything out alone like I did.

I want to hand someone the foundations we’ve already built so they can spend their time doing what really matters. Building relationships with children and families in their own community.

So if you’ve been quietly thinking…

“I’d love to do something like that, but I don’t think I’m the sort of person who could run a business.”

Can I gently challenge that thought?

The people I’m looking for aren’t the ones who know everything.

I’m looking for people who care deeply, who are willing to learn and who want to build something meaningful around their family.

Because I truly believe those qualities matter far more than having all the answers on day one.
