💪 David’s Journey: From Two Knee Replacements to Climbing the Granite Sea-Cliffs of Lundy! 🦵🏔️
When David first started training with me, his goal was to alleviate knee pain. As it became clear that he would require two full knee replacements, we focused on building strength through exercise to help prepare him for surgery and support his recovery.
David had his knee replacements in May and November 2025, and following his surgeries, we began working together on a structured recovery and development programme.
Through consistent training, dedication and a clear goal in mind, David made fantastic progress. By March 2026, he was back climbing, and in September, he completed a fortnight of challenging climbing on the granite sea-cliffs of Lundy. 🧗♂️
David is also still able to work as a gardener and enjoy an active lifestyle in his early 70s.
In his own words:
“I first began working with Alex to alleviate knee pain. When it became clear that I required two full knee replacements, strengthening through exercise had given me an excellent prognosis of recovery. The knees were replaced in May and November 2025, whereupon Alex and I began work on a recovery and development programme. By March 2026, I was back climbing, and in September I did a fortnight of hard climbing on the granite sea-cliffs of Lundy. Not too shabby for a grandfather in his early 70s.”
Not too shabby indeed, David! 👏
