Unity Through Yoga
Welcome! I teach mixed-ability yoga to build strength, flexibility through playful flows. I’m also creating an online yoga community and app - stay tuned!
My classes blend movement, breath, and philosophy to support your body and life.
There is something different about practising yoga outdoors.
The breeze reminds you to breathe. The trees ask nothing of you. The sounds of birds replace notifications. Before long, your attention begins to shift—not because you're trying to escape modern life, but because you're remembering what it feels like to be fully present within it.
For me, this is what yoga has always been about.
Not simply becoming more flexible or stronger, but allowing the practice to change something in us. Even if that transformation is subtle. A quieter mind. A softer body. A different perspective. A little more space between us and the constant noise of everyday life.
Tomorrow we'll practise together surrounded by nature, moving, breathing and creating the conditions for whatever transformation needs to happen.
📍 Greenhead Park, Huddersfield (by the bandstand)
🕙 Saturday, 10:00am
💚 Pay what feels good

On the way to teaching last week, I found myself reflecting on what yoga actually means to me.
The longer I practise, the less I think yoga is about achieving impressive postures.
Of course, postures have value. They help us build strength, mobility and awareness. But I don't think the posture itself is the point.
What interests me is what happens inside the posture.
Can we stop striving for a moment?
Can we stop comparing ourselves to what we used to be able to do, or what someone else can do?
Can we let go of trying to perfect the shape and instead become curious about our experience?
For me, that's where yoga begins.
It's why my next six-week theme in class is called:
Falling Into the Body: Finding the Space Within the Shape
Together we'll explore yoga from the inside through movement, breathwork, meditation and relaxation.
Not as a way of becoming someone else but as an opportunity to experience what is happening right now.
This six-week journey begins next week, and bookings are now open.
Monday 7:15pm – Cheadle
Wednesday 6:30pm – Highburton
Friday 10:00am – Hall Bower
Suitable for all levels, with options throughout to choose your own adventure.
If you'd like to join us, send me a message or book via the link in my bio.

Surrender is probably one of the most misunderstood ideas in yoga.
It isn’t giving up.
It isn’t becoming passive.
And it certainly isn’t accepting things that need changing.
It’s noticing how much energy we spend fighting reality.
The traffic.
The weather.
The conversation that didn’t go as planned.
The body that won’t move the way we want it to.
So often our suffering doesn’t come from what is happening.
It comes from our insistence that it should be different.
In yoga, surrender is the practice of softening that resistance.
Not losing our strength.
Not abandoning our values.
Simply learning when to stop gripping so tightly.
Doug Keller uses the image of an ice cube floating in a stream.
The ice cube is made of the same water as the stream, yet it remains frozen in its own rigid shape.
Our practice is not to become something new.
It is to melt.
To soften the unnecessary tension, fear, and need for control that keeps us separate from the flow of life.
Where in your life might you be gripping a little too tightly right now?
