🌞 Is your child starting to worry about going back to school? 🌞

For many children, the excitement of the summer holidays gradually turns into worries about September.

💭 Will I like my new teacher?
💭 What if my friends aren't in my class?
💭 Will the work be harder?
💭 What if I don't fit in?
💭 What if I'm moving to a new school?

These worries are completely normal, but they can grow if children don't have the confidence and strategies to manage them.

That's why I've created the FREE Wise Minds Summer Wellbeing Club.

Through fun games, creative activities and interactive coaching, children will learn to:
⭐ understand their emotions
⭐ build confidence
⭐ manage worries
⭐ develop resilience
⭐ learn calming techniques
⭐ feel more positive and prepared for returning to school.

The sessions are relaxed, welcoming and designed to help children realise that they're stronger, braver and more capable than they sometimes believe.

📍 Goldenhill Community Centre – Tuesday 25th August
📍 Meir Matters – Thursday 27th August
📍 Bentilee Family Hub – Thursday 27th August

👧 For children aged 7–12
💷 Completely FREE
👥 Places are limited to just 10 children per session, so early booking is recommended.

Could you help shape better support for parents?

Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of supporting many children and families experiencing anxiety and difficulties attending school. More recently, this journey has also become personal, giving me an even deeper understanding of how overwhelming it can feel when it's your own child.

I'm now carrying out some research to better understand parents' experiences, so I can create support that genuinely meets families' needs—whether that's practical resources, a parent community, workshops, videos, a podcast or an online course.
If you've supported a child who has struggled with anxiety or attending school, I'd be so grateful if you could spare 10–15 minutes to complete my questionnaire.
Your experiences could help other families feel understood, supported and less alone.

🔗 Complete the questionnaire here: https://forms.gle/UTqGrGawHxBD9RpcA

Thank you so much for your support. Please feel free to share this with other parents who may have experiences they'd be willing to share.

“I know my child is struggling… I just don’t know how to help.”

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.

Many children find it hard to explain their worries, fears, or big emotions—and as parents, it can be hard to know where to start.

That’s exactly why I’ve created the Wise For My Size Book Club 🌿

Through story, gentle conversation and simple activities, we help children:
✔ Understand their feelings
✔ Build confidence
✔ Feel safe to express themselves

And you’ll leave with tools to keep those conversations going at home.

Here is an article I wrote for ND360Hub about supporting children with anxiety.

After the half-Term Break, Anxiety Grows
For many neurodiverse children, the transition back to school after a half-term break can trigger heightened anxiety, from changes in routine to sensory overwhelm, social pressure, and feelings of being “different.”

In this month’s ND360 Hub magazine, children’s coach Wendy Miller shares how her coaching work helps anxious children understand their feelings, regulate their emotions, and take small, practical steps toward self-confidence.

“My role is to shine a light on these thoughts, feelings and emotions — and to help children see them in a new, more positive way.”

In one powerful example, Wendy supported a 13-year-old autistic boy who had withdrawn from his peers. By exploring his world through his senses, setting manageable goals, and creating a calming toolkit, they were able to build his confidence and reduce his anxiety about daily challenges.

You can find Wendy on the ND360 Hub, where she supports families navigating transitions, anxiety, and neurodivergent experiences.

Wendy’s 3 Tips for Supporting Anxious, Neurodiverse Children:

1️⃣ Normalise feelings – remind them anxiety is valid and human
2️⃣ Use small steps – break tasks down to make them manageable
3️⃣ Create a toolkit – from breathing to movement, find what soothes them
