πΆββοΈ Sunday morning walk done! πΆββοΈπ
A lovely little walk this morning, and thankfully the weather was kind to us too! πβοΈ
Just under 5km covered on todayβs route, with some great company along the way.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and joined us, itβs always great to see people getting out, moving and enjoying a bit of fresh air together.
π Our next seasonal walk will be at Leybourne Lakes, which Iβm looking at organising for November as our Autumn Walk.
Keep an eye out for the date and details coming soon! ππ
Whether youβre already part of the walking group or fancy joining us for the first time, youβll be very welcome. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ

Havenβt given anyone the 36kg bell to work with yetβ¦ until today ππͺ
Iβve always been a big believer that you donβt need to train heavy all the time, but thereβs definitely a place for working with heavier bells now and again.
A few reasons why I like introducing heavier kettlebells:
β’ ποΈ Builds strength: heavier loads give the body a different stimulus and help develop genuine strength.
β’ π§ Challenges your nervous system: heavier lifting teaches you to recruit more muscle and produce force efficiently.
β’ πͺ Grip strength: something you definitely notice when the bell gets heavy! Great for building strength that transfers into everyday life.
⒠𦴠Helps maintain bone and muscle strength: progressive resistance training is important as we get older.
β’ π― Improves confidence: handling a weight that once felt impossible can be a great reminder of what youβre capable of.
β’ π Adds variety: you donβt have to make every session heavy. Even occasionally working with a heavier bell can give your training a different stimulus.
And of course, heavy is relative. A 36kg bell might be a warm up weight for some and a serious challenge for others π
Itβs about finding the right weight for you, using good technique and progressing sensibly.

Need to step it up a little.
Its time to start adding heavier bells to the toolbox ππͺ

Who still trains when they're off work or spending time with the family? π
I definitely don't go all out every day when I'm away, but I'll always try to do something.
It might only be a 15 minute kettlebell session, a 10 minute yoga or mobility flow, or even just getting out for a walk.
It doesn't have to be a full workout, it just keeps the body moving.
For me, it's not just about fitness either. It's for my mind.
Movement is my medicine. My daily medication.
People often tell me, "You need to relax." But the funny thing is... training is my way of relaxing. Movement is my meditation ππ§ββοΈ
I've learnt over the years that consistency isn't about smashing yourself every session.
It's about keeping the habit alive, even when life gets busy.
Every little bit adds up, and your future self will thank you for it π

And today we're still going strong! πͺ
Clients like Claire remind me why I love what I do.
It's never about being motivated every day it's about turning up, putting the work in, and keeping going.
Here's to many more sessions! ππ

It's mad how fast time flies!
I remember when COVID hit and everything suddenly came to a stop. Gyms closed, routines changed overnight, and like many in the fitness industry, I had to adapt.
Although I was already doing a bit of mobile PT, that period really pushed me outdoors. I started running kettlebell bootcamps in the park, and before long, that evolved into the fully mobile personal training business I run today.
Looking back, it was a crazy time for everyone, but in many ways it helped me find my direction. It's funny how challenges can sometimes lead to opportunities you never expected.
What's even better is that I'm still training some of the amazing clients who first started with me during COVID. That means a lot, and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who's been part of the journey.
Here's to the memories... and to many more to comeπͺπ

This photo was taken not long after my son was born 17 years ago.
Looking back, it's a reminder of where it all started.
Most people see a Personal Trainer now, but they don't see the years before that.
Just before George was born, I lost my job. At a time when I felt I should have been providing for my family, I felt like I'd failed. I felt useless as a father.
I was underweight, lacked confidence, and was on antidepressants. Looking back now, they're something I'd never personally choose to take again, but at the time I was struggling.
Something had to change.
So I started training.
I started learning everything I could about fitness, strength and nutrition. Training wasn't just about building muscle; it became somewhere I could clear my head, focus on something positive and slowly rebuild myself.
The results didn't come quickly. It took years of consistency before I really started seeing the changes I was chasing.
And that's something I always remind my clients...
Real progress takes time.
Even now, after all these years, I still have goals. They just look different. You don't reach a finish line with fitness. You hit one milestone, enjoy it for a moment, then set your sights on the next.
Whatever your reason is for starting, don't compare your Chapter 1 to someone else's Chapter 20.
Keep turning up, Keep learning, Keep moving.
A year from now you'll be glad you didn't quit.
Have a great week everyone. πͺ
