It was fantastic to be back on the mats on Friday, seeing all the happy faces and seeing everyone having fun and working hard once again.

Our two weekly award winners simply got on and did each and every exercise and training routine with enthusiasm and 100% effort, well done to both of them ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

A club tee shirt was also spotted hiking in Romania recently, with this one being worn by Nick. Happy hiking Nick, the views look amazing ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

It looks like the last of our summer club tee shirt photos is now in. This one was spotted in Cyprus.

We hope you have all had a brilliant summer and we look forward to seeing you all at the club when we reopen again as from this Friday ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Ethan Watkin stepped onto the tatami in Switzerland today and gave it 100%

Judo is tough at this level and in a group of 11 that first win is all important. Ethan faced Spainโ€™s Sanz Pastrana in the opening round and was attacking well, however he got caught with a well timed footsweep for wazari and was unable to pull that back in time. Sanz Pastrana went on to take the bronze.

No medal this time but well done to Ethan for stepping out onto the tatami at such a huge event, learning and improving one day at a time ๐Ÿ‘

Go Ethan ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคž

Good luck to Ethan Watkin who steps onto the tatami in Switzerland tomorrow at -60kgs in an historic first.

In what is a truly historic day for adaptive judo tomorrow, 25 GB adaptive judoka will take to the tatami at the Ecole Mont-Olivet Adapted Grand Slam Lausanne 2026 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

The event marks a landmark moment for the sport as the first IJF World Tour event to host adaptive athletes, giving them the opportunity to compete alongside some of judo's biggest names on one of the sport's biggest stages ๐Ÿคฉ

Good luck to Ethan and to the whole team! ๐Ÿคž

Itโ€™s almost time to get back to judo ๐ŸŽ‰ We open as usual for all classes as from Tuesday 1 September in Sittingbourne and Friday 4 September in Walderslade (as Monday 31 August is a bank holiday)

But there is still just about enough time to send us your summer photos in your club tee shirt if you have not done so already and to get yourself in with the chance of winning a prize just for doing so ๐ŸŽ ๐Ÿ‘

In the meantime here is a quick look at what some club members have been up to in theirs ๐Ÿ˜

The adventures of our club members and their tee shirts continue with this one even taking time to look for the Loch Ness Monster ๐Ÿ˜ฎ We hope they both make it back safe and sound and in time for judo next week ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜†

This particular club tee shirt will also have clocked up about 1,704 miles on its summer road trip ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ’ช

Looking forward to seeing you all again as from 4 September ๐Ÿ‘

As the summer starts to draw to a close our club members in their tee shirts were also spotted being kind to the animals at Banham Zoo in Norfolk ๐Ÿ˜Š

Looking forward to this historic judo event ๐Ÿ‘
